Yagate Kimi ni Naru – Episode 8 – Rainy Day Rhapsody

November 24, 2018 by Chikorita157 4 Comments
At last, Sayaka confronts her ex-girlfriend.

After Sayaka receives relationship advice, she finally confronts her ex-girlfriend. How would she react?

Sayaka sticks it to her ex-girlfriend in the best way possible.

After receiving relationship advice from Miyako, Sayaka decides to resolve her differences with her ex-girlfriend. While her ex-girlfriend wanted to apologize for forcing Sayaka to date with her, Sayaka’s response is priceless. She finds Touko and grabs her by her arm showing that she is proud to be a lesbian and she doesn’t need her ex-girlfriend anymore. In a way, Sayaka is giving her ex-girlfriend a middle finger thinking that their relationship is just an experimentation. Either way, this shows that Sayaka still have a fighting chance to win Touko’s heart.

Sadly, relay race practice isn’t going so well for Yuu and Sayaka.

Aside from that, if you saw how Sayaka confronted Yuu after she tried to prevent the play from happening, Yuu thought that she is in bad terms with Sayaka. Given that Yuu struggled to pass the baton to Sayaka, she wanted to make things up to her. She takes her to fast food thinking that Sayaka never experienced it. It’s surprising that Sayaka despite attending an all-girls middle school had a typical teenage girls’ life. Either way, it seems that they sorted out their differences as their first impressions of each other threw them off. This is especially the case when Yuu said she is willing to go along with the stage play because it’s something she wants.

Yuu tries to settle her differences with Sayaka with some WcDonalds.

While Yuu asks Sayaka if she likes Touko and she says it’s her closest friend. As for Yuu, she thinks that Touko is cool. Either way, Sayaka should feel relieved with this result that Yuu doesn’t show any romantic feelings for her Touko. Still, it’s interesting how Yuu asks if Touko will return to her old self after the stage play. While Sayaka doubts, she wonders what will happen afterwards. Either way, thanks to Yuu extending the olive branch, they eventually manage to pass the baton successfully. I guess Yuu trying to make up to Sayaka worked perfectly.

At last, Yuu and Touko walks home together under an umbrella.
Yuu and Touko fighting over who should carry the umbrella.
As expected, it’s bliss.
Yuu dries Touko off from the rain.

As for the second half, it’s feels a bit more light-hearted. Apparently, Yuu forgot her umbrella and decided to wait around until Touko came around. As always, seeing Yuu and Touko walk under an umbrella is cute since they look like a couple, especially when they fight over who should carry it. Yuu then discovers that Touko is getting part of herself wet. Eventually, they went to a dry place so Yuu can dry Touko off. In short, this was a nice moment between Yuu and Touko as the rain stops and the sun comes out.

Sayaka’s revenge was sweet. Very well handled considering she had no time to prepare.

It’s cool seeing Yuu and Sayaka becoming friendlier AND testing each other as it were.

Yuu and Touko had another great moment together though that reaction by Touko’s when Yuu showed signs of falling in love with her was concerning. She’s clearly not ready for Yuu to reciprocate her love yet. We’ll see where that goes.

Agreed. Probably her ex-girlfriend regret deceiving her now. But aside from that, it’s always nice to see You and Sayaka become friendlier, despite being rivals.

Yes, the moment with Yuu and Touko walking under an umbrella is nice. Yuu is getting there slowly, but eventually will get there. It makes me wonder if Sayaka will get there first though.
