It’s finally summer break, and of course you know what this means, right? Beach Episode! Well, sort of.
Akari’s and Hinata’s summer break has begun and they decided to go to a beach. They took Sophie along. She didn’t enjoy her time at the beach. They put her back into the suitcase and take her back home. Akari tries to figure out what to do during break, she eventually found an idea. After watching an anime scene where a bunch of girls go to see fireworks wearing Yukatas, Akari decides to do the same. She made Yukatas for herself and her friends. The next evening, they participated in the summer festivities and saw fireworks.
During a summer evening, Sophie went out. She finds a sunflower and started counting the seeds. Before long, she forgot that the sun came out. She waited until Akari came along to keep her company until the sun sets.
At last, we finally get our beach episode. While Akari, Hinata and Sophie looks great in their swimsuits and it seems that Akari and Hinata had a lot of fun, the same can’t be said for Sophie. This is not so surprising since spending time at a beach combines two of the things vampires dreads the most: the sunlight and moving water. In other words, it doesn’t quite work out. Even if they went during the evening hours, Sophie wouldn’t play in the ocean. It’s such a shame that it didn’t work out. However, it seems that Ellie is smart since she decided to have an indoor pool party with the beach scenery shown on her television screen.
With options limited, it’s kind of sad that Akari and Hinata can’t do anything with Sophie and Ellie without excluding them. All Akari can possibly do is spend time with Sophie and cuddle with her. She apparently planted flowers, but it seems that they don’t bloom during the night. Akari should have planted some flowers that bloom during the night so Sophie can appreciate them.
While Akari is stumped on what they should do during summer break, she got an idea. After looking at an anime with girls wearing Yukatas to see fireworks during a summer festival, she found the activity that would work. Yes, she made Yukatas for all her friends, including herself. As you would expect, they look cute in them, even Hinata. From there, they had fun with the festivities. It’s quite surprising that Sakuya and Yuu didn’t run into Akari and her friends despite spotting Sophie.
As for the last part, I find it pretty heartwarming. I find it funny how Sophie finds a sunflower during a night stroll and decided to count all the seeds that are in a sunflower. Apparently, vampires counting seeds and rice is a thing. At least she got to spend time with Akari as she keeps her company until the sun sets.
We were blessed with a beach episode but poor Sophie nearly paid the price.
Poor Hinata felt left out as Akari and Sophie’s bond grew stronger. Wonder what will happen when the time comes and Sophie must make the ultimate decision?
Also will Ellie take Hinata? Hope so.
Surely, that is risky, but it’s somewhat worth it for that bit.
Hinata seems that she have the short end of the stick. Hopefully Ellie and Hinata will become a reality.
I like Ellie’s method of enjoying the beach. I’m glad she’s figured out the TV.
Sophie must know from experience what ghosts are like.
I was hoping for more “ah ah ah”s during Sophie’s seed counting.
Yep, and one can beat the heat too.
But yes, Sophie’s seed counting does kind of reminds me of Sesame Street.
