Angelica only gives Illya a choice of sacrificing Miyu or let the world come to an end. In short, Illya is left with a tough decision. Which outcome will Illya pick?
From the looks of it, it seems that Angelica pretty much takes Kiritsugu’s ideals to the next level. She would rather sacrifice Miyu to save the world. This leaves Illya a big dilemma. She does not want to sacrifice her friend. On the other hand, she doesn’t want the world to end either. This puts her at a big loss, making her unable to answer Angelica’s question. In short, she had to avoid her attack by using the Assassin card, which she conveniently had.
However, Chloe thinks differently. She wants to save Miyu because love and affection is more important than saving everyone else who she doesn’t know. It’s obvious that people want to protect their loved ones and this is no exception. Still, I like how she mentioned Kiritsugu abandoning his ideals in the end to hit home her point.
While I understand how Chloe feels, Illya doesn’t seem to like the idea of having to pick one or the other. After Illya saved her after using Assassin’s Noble Phantasm to take the blunt of Angelica’s attack, she doesn’t want either. She realizes this since she doesn’t want to lose Chloe. In short, she wants to do the impossible: save both Miyu and the world. One shouldn’t be limited to just one outcome. This is not impossible since Illya managed to move her stuffed animal body move.
In the end, Illya definitely surprised Angelica with her answer. However, her answer did not satisfy Darius. In short, he is going to fight against them directly next time. Still, I highly doubt Darius is the real deal. He is probably the Julian guy that Beatrice obsessed about. Given that she beaten the crap out of Erica, it shows his true nature. Hopefully he will get the justice he deserves with three episodes remaining. ¶
