Haifuri – Episode 2 – Mishiro’s Terrible Luck

April 16, 2016 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
Mishiro's luck faded when her mother's hat flew away.
Mishiro’s luck faded when her mother’s hat flew away.

Mishiro’s bad luck streak continues as another ship attacks them.

From the flashback, it’s easy to feel sympathy towards Mishiro. Apparently, her mother was part of the Blue Mermaids as she recalls how they were formed. From this, Mishiro dreams of going to the school that her mom will be teaching at. Sadly, things took a turn for the worse as Mishiro manages to lose her mom’s hat after it got blown away by the wind, thus she had bad luck ever since.

Kouko finally realizes the ship that is attacking has enough firepower to sink Harekaze.
Kouko finally realizes the ship that is attacking has enough firepower to sink Harekaze.

Taking the above in context, her mom is now the principal of the said school. She was definitely shocked after hearing the news that the ship that her daughter is accused of mutiny for sinking one of the instructor’s ship. While we don’t know if that is the case since the instructor’s ship was firing at them, it’s probably just Mishiro’s terrible luck.

Akeno saves the day by saving someone that was attacked.

Adding to Mishiro’s suffering, things took a turn for the worse when a ship from a German school open fire on them. In short, they were at a loss in terms of firepower, thus they had to buy time by creating a smokescreen before they can fire on them to at least slow them down. The funny thing is that the ship that was firing at the Harekaze happened to attack one of their crew members, which I find odd. Either way, Akeno decided to do the right thing and save her.

If things haven't gotten worse enough, Moeka sends a distress call...
If things haven’t gotten worse enough, Moeka sends a distress call…

Aside from that, it seems that the girls on the Harekaze can’t stop Murphy’s Law since they keep having one bad thing happening after another. At least they made it out alive thanks to the ship being faster than the battleship. While they have dinner, it seems that there is another problem on the as Akeno receives a distress call from Moeka. With that, I have a feeling that the story will be darker instead of being a fluffy slice of life, which will definitely make things become more interesting.

This show is badass, simple as that. What else can I say?

I do hope the distress call isn’t a trap.

If it’s really a trap, this must be a terrible way to do it… but I highly doubt it considering that Moeka’s ship was also one of the ones mentioned that they are late, so it won’t be surprising if they have ship problems or something.
