Sakura Trick – Episode 1 – First Impressions

January 10, 2014 by Chikorita157 4 Comments
As expected, I already had a nosebleed from all this cuteness.
As expected, I already had a nosebleed from all this cuteness.

After the first few minutes of watching this episode, I already had cuteness overload.

In the past, I have actually enjoyed various 4-koma adaptations such as K-ON, A Channel, etc. While I haven’t covered any last year, I have to say that I was not disappointed with the Yuri in this show. In fact, it already exceeds my expectations. Yuu and Haruka are already more than just best friends. They even kissed not once, but twice in the first episode alone and I admit that it looked beautiful.  Not only that, the comedy was also enjoyable, especially when they were hiding from the teachers.

As expected, the yuri does not disappoint.

As a whole, this show already proves that Yuri shows don’t necessarily have to be at an all girls’ school just to make the story work as the story takes place at a co-ed high school. To me, the relationships and how they develop is more important. Still, I wonder how the other girls will develop in the future episodes, especially between Shizuku and Kotone possibly. Either way it goes, I look forward to it.

Note: Future coverage of this show will be covered in the Anime weekly digest, starting the Week of Jan 19th when Spring Semester begins.

I do not think you need even visit my castle to predict how my reaction to the first episode was.

Fun little episode and I was surprised we got a full on yuri kiss scene! Whoa! That was crazy but at least it was funny~

In that aspect, that scene did surprise me too as they usually develop the relationship before kissing. Still, it’s enjoyable.
