Will Mirai finally catch her first dream shade? Absolutely!
Compared to last time, I felt that this episode was a slight improvement for several reasons. While the battle was enjoyable, I felt that the comedy this time around wasn’t forced. Although we get to see some high school comedy with Akihito’s friend regarding some dream shade hunting and Mirai rejecting the rice ball, there were a few things that really cracked me up, particularly the message Akihito receives. Apparently, he has a weird mother who hunts spirits for a living and enjoys dressing up as a cat girl? Of course, this makes be wonder if Akihito is like his mother since he has a fetish for girls that wear glasses while his mother is obsessed over cats. Even so, I still wonder what kind of spirit hunter she is.
While Mirai only getting 1000 yen from her catch from Ayaka, I still wonder about her past. As seen with her having some difficulties trying to finish off a rough dream shade, clearly something she done in the past still bothers her. She eventually revealed to Akihito that she killed someone while they were eating in restaurant. I wonder who is this person and why she did it. Is this the reason she is hated so much? I think some information about her past will get revealed next time after he finds out.
From here, I think things will finally get a bit more serious, especially for the fact that there is a strong dream shade lurking around. But at least Mirai didn’t go on a stabbing spree this time around, especially for the fact that humans and animals can also be dream shades!
