Since E3 happened last week, it’s time to share my brief thoughts about the Playstation 4 and games for the Nintendo consoles as everyone else already done so…

2013 E3 Impressions
I only watched Sony’s and Nintendo’s E3 conference since they are the only ones I was interested in. For Sony, I admit that the Playstation 4 beaten the crap out of the Xbox One as it does not have a 24 hour check-in nor restrictions on used games (even though it’s determined by the publisher like on the PS3) along with being 100 dollars cheaper and being region free. While online multiplayer will require a Playstation Plus subscription, the free games makes this service worth the 50 dollars per year. However, I don’t play online that much and since Japanese RPGs don’t have online multiplayer, it’s a non-issue.
Despite Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 heading to the next generation consoles, I won’t be getting a PS4 right away since Japanese RPGs are still being made for the PS3 and that I own a Wii U already that I share with my sister.
As for Nintendo, they have a solid lineup for this year and next year. The most exciting besides Mario Kart 8, a new Mario Game and a Zelda remake is the new Smash Brothers game. Besides the 3DS version, which will have its own exclusive stages and HD graphics is the characters. While most of Nintendo’s characters will make a return, they also revealed two new ones like Megaman and the Female Wii Fit trainer. Still, Nintendo will probably reveal more characters, courses and features in the next couple Nintendo Directs, so it’s going to be exciting. As for Pokémon X and Y, the new additions to the battle mechanics and online features look interesting. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
This wraps up my impressions for E3 and I think Microsoft will become the biggest loser in the console war mainly because of their anti-consumer practices with the Xbox One.
Now lets focus on the Anime Impressions
Photo Kano Episode 11
Although the one episode per girl except for Haruka is the main weakness of this show, I am still enjoying it to a certain extent. Rina’s is no exception as she is focused on getting members for her cooking club. While we don’t get to see Kazuya take pictures of her in a swimsuit, we see her in cosplay along with Alice, the famous cosplayer appearing at Rina’s cafe during the school festival. I still wonder about her actual identity as we saw a familiar costume that Kazuya knocks over in Episode 9. Aside from that, it seems that he got the hang of taking great photos of food.
Ore no Imouto 2 Episode 11
Since people already know that the light novel is heading to the most undesirable ending imaginable, this episode redeem itself briefly by being funny. Apparently, Kyousuke gets kicked out and has to live on his own thanks to a sticker with Kirino hugging him. Now, he must get an A on a mock exam in order to move back. This led us to the most hilarious battle between Ayase and Ruri fighting over Kyousuke. Honestly, their battle scene reminded me of Chuunibyou, just without the eye patches.
Anime Power Rankings
- Gargantia – Episode 10
- Red Data Girl – Episode 11
- Photo Kano – Episode 11
- Ore no Imouto – Episode 11
What’s this? OreImo actually in the rankings this time? I have to say that Chuuni fight was pretty funny haha.
While that show still disappoints, especially with Episode 9 and 10 with Kyousuke insisting on the incest thing, at least he moved away, which means one thing… Little screentime for Kirino, the most hated character on the show. Still, that battle scene is funny and Ayase and Ruri were hailarious. Kanako was cool too.
