Well, it’s a good episode, but I don’t want to spoil what I have to say about my upcoming editorial. I’ll give you some hints: it deals with the certain faction of the Anime Fandom/Blogosphere and genre elitist haters.
Besides the girls bashing each other’s genres, the live watching was a pretty refreshing event with Kirino being a big fangirl while Kuroneko moans and groans. Even though I haven’t experienced a live watching, I would love to do one during break with some of my friends and give our commentary over Skype.
Later on, Kirino complains about the porn sites that Kyousuke supposedly visited on her laptop. Perhaps someone should teach him how to use the “Private Browsing” feature in the web browser. Then, nobody can catch you on those naughty sites.
However, I have a gut feeling that Kirino is using that excuse to make him check out her light novel she is writing. Also, she drags him around town and extorts 18000 yen from him. Later, in an unfortunate accident, she gets wet and Kyousuke takes her to a hotel room. This is where Kirino takes a shower… It would feel so wrong to have him peek in the shower like in Haruka’s arc in Amagami (didn’t actually happened, but Haruka wanted it). I just can’t imagine the reaction from her if he actually done it.
Unlike the last episodes, there wasn’t that much character development. Moreover, I think the first part seem to explain the infighting between Kirino and Kuroneko over what shows they like rather perfectly. I find it pretty ironic how they are still friends. Perhaps they are so passionate in their hobbies that they love to argue with each other? In a way, the fights between them are poking fun with the real life fighting and bashing from the genre elitist haters.
Also, besides the naked loli stuff, Meruru reminds me of a very familiar magical girl show. If you know the answer, it’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. In addition, the voice for Meruru was Yukari Tamura, who also voiced Nanoha. What a coincidence!
