K-ON!! Episode 4

In the end... Sawako couldn't resist...

I went on overnight field trips in High School in the past. They were fun and all, but never as exciting as this. This has to be the most magical field trip to Kyoto ever… as it’s the same place where Kyoto Animation is. Well, close to it… I was laughing my butt off this episode thanks to Yui and Ritsu… and damn, Ui deceived me by letting her hair down and looking like Yui. Well, I’m going to mix some of my past experience from my class field trips I went on with my thoughts about this episode… and yes… it will be fun…

I don't think rubbing the cow so much will make you smart...

I mean, we never see this in real life, but looking at this… It must be really funny after all because of the well… there are things that people normally won’t do in real life. I’m thinking that Mugi and Mio are the only sane ones in the group.

They are wasting perfectly good food. A tip: Never eat snacks before dinner... You never know...

Back in 8th grade, I went on a class field trip to Amish country and Gettysburg back in 2003… There was this Amish style restaurant we went to. Wile I was eating dinner normally, some students think it was funny to play around with the food and put mash potatoes and corn in lemonade. Students these days… and considering I go to a school with a good number of higher class kids… no wonder… Think about the people who are starving in third world countries… They would be grateful for food while they waste it because they think it was funny.

Back to K-ON!!, Yui and Ritsu snacked and yes… the end result shows that both of them couldn’t finish dinner. I wished I had some Japanese food this week… Oh well. :p

Mugi, the Ojou she is wants a pillow fight!

Now with night time and spending time in hotel rooms. From my experience, there is always a lot of fooling around such as people trying to have parties in the room or doing some naughty stuff like playing strip poker (no, I’m just kidding about the strip poker part). When it’s lights out, not everyone goes to bed and they stay up for several moments and cracking up jokes that turn out to be funny. This is the same case after lights go out in K-ON!!

Tsumugi breaks from the traditional Ojou… and starts a big pillow fight… and ends up being epic as Tsumugi never gets hit and she manages to hit Ritsu and Mio. Ritsu misses the first time and the second time…

Uh oh... this isn't good...

It hits Sawako and she steps on Ritsu and turns off the light… After she left, they continue on… until they became completely sleepy.

Even the smartest can get lost too!

However, getting lost is no fun! You have to find your group and by the time you find them, part of your time that you could spend on sightseeing would be gone. Now with today’s smartphones, most come with GPS, which makes it easier to find your way back if you know where is your group by cellphone… and yes… it sucked because in 8th grade, I didn’t have a cell phone. In 9th grade however, I borrowed my father’s cell phone. It wasn’t until senior year that I got my first cell phone, a shitty Samsung Blackjack, which was eventually replaced with a iPhone.

Now back to K-ON!!, they went out on their own to sightsee Kyoto next day and they got lost when night falls. They even called Azu-nyan… How helpful is that? She is not even on the trip. Even with Nodoka, they still got lost, but they eventually found their way back before dinner.

From what I have experienced in this episode, these girls really had more fun than what I did on my field trips in the past… It make me wish there was such a field trip like this… It was magical as some people say. Like in real life, there are no such thing as moeblobs that can spice up field trips and they are usually controlled and organized… so you can’t really fool around too much… sadly…

Verdict

8.5/10
