Ayu: Uguu~ I don’t want to…
But you have to! (… hehe… If you didn’t notice, I’m a Ayu fan…)
Anyways… After Kadokawa trolled us about Haruhi Season 2 is being a rerun of Season 1 on April and BoatRoll’d us, they have finally release 4 episodes of Haruhi-chan and Nyoron Churuya-san. I don’t intend to review all the episodes at once since I have a very busy week, but two will do. The full summary and reaction after the jump!

Synopsis (For both episodes)
Haruhi-chan Episode 2 – Youtube Link
- As Kyon open the door to the SOS Brigade Clubroom, Haruhi complains that she is bored as there were no clients
- Next day, Kyon enters the clubroom with Nagato doing something on a laptop. Kyon asks what she was doing and looked at the screen and was shocked by what Nagato was playing. Kyon then forces Nagato to use a Bluetooth headset so he doesn’t get disturbed.
- In the classroom fight scene with Asakura and Kyon (a actual parody of the knife scene in Haruhi Episode 4), as she was prepared to kill Kyon, Nagato went in and Nagato gets hit instead and as Asakura’s body was disappearing, she said she is not the only member left.
Nyoron Churuya-san Episode 2 – Youtube Link
- The SOS-dan plays rock-paper-scissors to decide who will take out the trash. Guess who can only throw rock because she doesn’t have any fingers… Nayoro-n
- In the next scene, the SOS-dan does a fire drill and Churuya is the firefighter, but she is instantly pronounced dead. Nayoro-n.
- Churuya asks Nagato to play with her, but Nagato refuses and have her play with the backup instead, Ashakura-san. Nayoro-n
- Churuya searches “Smoked Cheese” on google, but apparently Kyon blocked it on that computer.
- Lastly, Ashakura tries to put a love letter into Kyon’s mailbox, but couldn’t. Churuya comes out of Kyon’s house with Kyon and Ashakura shoots a suction cup arrow at her with a letter saying “impossible”
Reaction
Surprisingly, the animation isn’t as nearly up to par to Kyoto Animation’s normal productions (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, Lucky Star, Full Metal Panic, Kanon, AIR TV and Clannad series) nor nearly as detailed as Lucky Star, which is also a comedy series I can actually compare this with (perhaps the animation style?). However, the content was humorous enough, so it makes up for the rather mediocre animation. Although I like the Haruhi series alot, but unfortunately, I’m not a Haruhiist or a fanboy of that series because there is better series I prefer.. Overall, the second episode of Haruhi-chan gets a 7.5/10 and Nyoron Churuya-san Episode 2 a 7.6/10, which is pretty good for their first web series, but not up to par with the normal series. If you have 5 minutes to waste, give it a try!
