There is not much to say about this episode since it’s a sports festival episode. The contest is against the freshmen, seniors and the girls team.
It was pretty obvious that Misaki was training for the festival because she was holding a ridiculously heavy serving tray. With some training, she didn’t really need it since she effortlessly beaten the boys at every event. In one event, she skipped out because she was tired. The big race with traps and obstacles comes with Sakura’s kiss prize ticket at stake if one of those nasty boys team win and Misaki loses. She didn’t win, but Usui did. She got a kiss from Sakura after Usui give Misaki the prize. More Les Yay or some Mugivision going around?
The highlight of the episode is the costume race not a cosplay race as Usui says. Misaki gets the Maid outfit, which she feared most because it would revealed her secret. It gets swapped by Yukimura and Misaki gets a different costume. As a result, we get another trap in the whole anime. From watching it, I laughed because he looks good in it.
Too bad he didn’t have a wig so that we can get the “it’s a trap” moment, but its enough to say it. He gets really embarrassed, but Usui and Misaki helps him finish the race in their kick-ass outfits.
After the festival, Usui says “Good Job” and kissed her on the hand. She blushes and goes deredere to the max. I laughed…
No matter how you look at it, this was the most enjoyable sports festival episode I seen so far even though there wasn’t much plot development. Compared to the one in Lucky Star which was average, they pretty much gone overboard with it by having Yukimura crossdress in a maid outfit. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have named the episode, “Maid-sama even at the Sports Festival” as it says on the tin.
Next Episode: Delinquents and a kidnapping? It goes all serious!
