What is this blog about?

Pretty much everything I watch, which is mainly drama, comedy, slice of life, and romance as long it doesn’t have too much fanservice and/or ecchi.

This blog is a mix of episodic, editorial and review blogging. What I mean is that even though I will write on every episode, sometimes I will go more in depth in issues on editorial blogging with Anime and its fandom on controversial and non-controversial issues including more in depth writing on a title without dealing with episodic as a whole. Reviews are the more in depth analyzing of a Anime series as a whole, which I will go more in depth in areas like music, art and character design than I would in a episodic post. I also review Anime related material such as Visual Novels, Video Games, Manga and Music. In short, you won’t find anything about figures or any other merchandise nor you will see any reposting of news on the blog. Anything personal and not related to Anime will get posted on my personal side blog, Shiori’s Diary.

The software I use to maintain and design are Adobe Photoshop CS5, Panic’s Transmit 4, Espresso and Safari 5.

All content on this blog is PG-13.

Since when you started watching Anime?

I have been watching Anime since my childhood, but it’s still remains a hobby because most of American cartoons are aimed towards children. You can find out more about my tastes in Anime on Melative.

What WordPress theme you are using? It looks so cool!

This blog uses a custom theme made by myself based on the Genesis Framework from Studiopress. Before that, we used Thematic, but ditched it since it hasn’t been in active development.

Why there is a compatibility notice when I use Internet Explorer 6/7?

tr;dr:  For the best viewing experience, please use Firefox, Opera, or any Webkit based browsers (Chrome, Konqueror and Safari). Internet Explorer is a piece of crap that needs to die (except for IE9+)

How come when I load this blog on a iPhone/iPod Touch/Android/Windows Phone 7/Blackberry Torch, it looks different?

This blog uses a special theme which is enabled only when you browsing this blog on a mobile device (such as an Android, iPhone, etc). That way it can provide the best experience without needing to zoom in and scroll left or right. This mobile theme will allow you to browse all of my blog posts and even comment on them on your smartphone. To view other pages or view the normal theme, just click “View Normal Theme” on the bottom of the page.

Since Chikorita157′s Anime Blog uses WPTouch Pro, when you add this website to the homescreen, it will act like a iPhone Application. The web app uses AJAX so no page reloading is required. However, some features may not be available in this version of the website.

Why there are advertisements on WPTouch and the Website?

The advertisements are used to offset the costs of hosting this blog as I am paying out of the pocket to host my own blog. The advertisements are non intrusive and only show when you view the full post. So, if you are a frequent reader, please exclude this site from your adblockers.

If I get an internship or a work study and manage to raise enough money to cover the next two years of hosting, I will remove the advertisements.

Why a “Gravitar” logo doing next to my comment?

Gravatars, globally accepted avatars which can be used on any WordPress based blogs that accepts them. You can get one by registering your email with them so you can get a custom avatar.

When posting a comment, make sure you use the email you normally use for commenting. Your email address is protected and won’t get shown in the public.

If you like to recommend a drama, comedy, slice of life, and romance anime, you may do so by typing a direct message to my twitter account with the recommended series that meets the criteria, or I won’t watch it.
- Must be a drama, comedy, slice of life, and romance anime series. Other genres will also be accepted as long it’s not typical shouen action (e.g. Bleach and Naruto) or any mecha anime series.

- Rating must be higher than or equal to a 8 (rounded score, meaning the minimum overall score must be above 7.5).
- Please no excessive fanservice, hentai or ecchi anime…
