As the four girls’ high school year come to an end for good, they must overcome the second to last thing before graduation… Taking yearbook pictures! I remembered this time 2-3 years ago when I had to take senior portraits and it turned out to be pretty good. Yui on the other hand… Thats another story.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama – Episode 20 – Yukimura and his Imouto
Given that Yukimura lost the Footman Competition because of his lack of manliness, now his younger sister is now doubting his manliness with her preference for Usui as her Prince. This sounds so wrong in many levels. This date reminded me of Mei going out on a date with Tomoya to piss off her older brother. The only difference is that Usui didn’t go overboard by having Ruri call him “onii-chan.” If they did, Misaki would be angry at him for life for being a lolicon and his perversion.

Fall 2010 Plans – Updated
If you don’t believe it, the whole summer flown by very quickly. During that the whole time, I have watched and written a lot about Anime. The sad thing is that summer break isn’t here forever and I have to go back to college for another semester for learning. As Summer ends, it’s another season of new anime.
Fall 2010 Season unlike Winter, Spring and Summer seasons is very lackluster. The lack of comedy/drama/slice of life Anime pretty much turned me off for the season. Then again, I may be wrong if I manage to pick something up this season as it goes on. Therefore, there is always the currently airing shows from Spring/Summer to finish and the backlog.
- Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (Backlogged, 4 episodes)
- K-ON!! (2 Episodes Left, ends late September)
- Seitokai Yakuindomo (Backlogged, 6 Episodes behind)
- Amagami SS (Ongoing)
- Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi (Started)
Fall 2010 Season
- Yosuga no Sora
- MM!
- Ore No Imouto Ga Konna Ni Kawaii Wake Ga Nai
Compared to last fall season, I was able to pick up two Anime titles (Kobato and Seitokai no Ichizon) to cover and they turn out to be good. This season, its filled with hot blooded shouen anime that I have no interest in or rather make me yawn real loud. Anyway, if you really want to see a list of Fall 2010 anime, head over to The Cart Driver or on Melative (incomplete at the moment).
Now for some site and personal stuff:
- I will be working on a new banner for the Fall season with the remaining Summer Vacation I have left. I expect to have this up in two days. No need to worry, it’s going to look great. (Update: New Banner is now up!)
- The fall semester has a moderate workload, so I will be able to update the blog at least 5 times a week. For those who want to know when I am free, the schedule can be viewed here.
- For those who wish to write a Guest Editorial for Fall 2010 season, the criteria is listed here.
This is pretty much what I have to say on the Fall 2010 season and plans… I wish everyone will do well in school or the Fall Semester (if you are still in college) and hopefully enjoy the fall season.

Amagami SS – Episode 9 (Sae’s Arc Part 1) – The Timid Freshman
It’s a new arc and a new girl. That means that Junchi is companionless, for now…until he ran into Nakata Sae during the summer of course! She just transferred from another school and is in Miya’s freshman class. She is really cute, except that she is super timid as you see later.

Two Episode Taste Test – Seitokai Yakuindomo
I thought there is already a show with a Student Council filled with girls with one male character? In a sense, yes… but that one had a ton of Anime and Otaku references. As you noticed, Seitokai Yakuindomo is completely different since all the girls are rather perverted. ironically, the male character seems to be the only sane person in the school.
This is a two episode taste test. This is the overall impressions I have for this series over the two episodes. The third episode will ultimately decide if I should continue the series or drop it.

K-ON!! Second Season – Episode 20 Brief Thoughts
Surprisingly, time goes by very quickly when you are having fun with friends. After all, four of the girls are seniors and they had to perform their greatest to make the memory last forever. From the three festival performances, this is probably the best out of three and was pretty heartwarming. Some observations:
- Sawako worked overnight to get the HTT t-shirts out to everyone. That is pretty nice.
- The audience seems to be excited.
- The first song was very light-hearted, but the last one seems to be heartwarming.
- And of course, we got some stage comedy that took a chunk out of the time including Mio and Ritsu reciting lines from the play.
The sad realization is that it’s their last year they would be performing in front of the crowd. We know that good things have to come to the end, but never let go of the fond memories they had with each other. As we let the festival go away in the sunset, we should realize that K-ON is not all about girls doing cute things or eating cake and drinking tea. Its all about friendships, which is one of the simple things in life. Most people might have even gone through this feeling after graduating from High School or College and leaving old friends behind. In the end, as the girls did in this episode, we should remember the times we had fun with our old friends and never let them fade away…
Next Episode: Time for the Yearbook pictures!

The Observation of Music from Key’s Visual Novels
After listening to the Angel Beats Original Soundtrack, I wondered about the other Original Soundtracks from other previous Key works like Kanon, Air and Clannad. After extensively listening to them, the three soundtracks had different styles between them and obviously completely different from the synth dominated tracks in Angel Beats.

Amagami SS – Kaoru Tanamachi’s Arc Final Impressions
Almost a month later, another arc is finished with some triumph. Kaoru’s arc compared to Haruka’s arc felt more realistic and natural. However, it still suffers the same issues of pacing. The question remains, how well Kaoru’s arc held up in Anime form?

What is the Definition of Slice of Life Anime?
What exactly makes an Anime be considered in the Slice of Life genre? There has been talk about it around the blogosphere on the true definition of the Slice of Life genre (Midnight Equinox provides a whole lowdown of bloggers who provided their views on the Slice of Life genre). Like I said in my slightly trollish response, it’s actually complicated. There is a reason why explaining the genre complicated. People have different views on what qualities in the show they would consider as Slice of Life. However, I’m going to share my views on what qualities that would be in the Slice of Life genre.

From a continuation from last episode, Misaki-kun and Usui become partners in beating the so called Footman contest… The question is… how well they do?
