While it has been a rough year given the obvious, I’m not exactly doing the 12 Days thing this year. That said, while I won’t share 12 yuri pairings, instead, I will share the more notable ones from finished titles of this year.
As expected, there is no specific order.
Renge and Yuri
Momentary Lilly

While Yuri gets killed off early, Renge, of course, made a promise to find her friend. I guess with Yuri’s weapon merging with Renge’s, it’s not too surprising they make a good pairing. Sure, the Yuri that Renge befriended and had her gun given to is just a clone, but the fact that she is willing to sacrifice herself to protect the original Yuri shows how close she is to Yuri.
Lillisa and Otoha
Rock wa Lady no Tashinami deshite

Sure, Lillisa would rather leave her guitar-playing hobby behind in the pursuit of becoming a Noble Maiden, but Otoha basically dragged her back in. Well, it’s to show that she is better at guitar than Otoha is at the drums. Sure, they have a friendly rivalry, but given their shared interest in music and Otoha’s strong interest in Lillisa. It’s not too surprising that they make a great pairing.
Konoha and Satoko
Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi

Sure, Konoha finds Satoko a bit too ditzy, which causes Satoko to cause trouble; they have a rather interesting relationship. Sure, Konoha is rather emotionless and finds some aspects of Satoko annoying. However, given that Satoko helps Konoha by turning her victims into leaves and also cooks delicious meals.
Still, it’s evident that Konoha develops a liking for Satoko through a robot version of Satoko and also during that date, which has some adorable moments. Not to mention, Satoko is willing to protect Konoha when she is at her most vulnerable.
Atori and Yuu
Bad Girl

It comes as no surprise that Yuu developed a massive crush on Atori after meeting her for the first time. It led her to apply to the school Atori attends. It even led her to try to become a “bad girl” to get Atori’s attention. The funny thing is that Atori sees Yuu as a cute puppy. I admit that Yuu’s hyperventilating after Atori does something that excites her is pretty adorable.
Nana and Kaede
Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu.

Nana is a very introverted, socially awkward mangaka who gets overly emotional when she thinks things aren’t going well. While Kaede, her editor, is bad at sharing praise for Nana’s work and, well, important things like deadlines and events that cause Nana to panic, I think their similar personalities make them a good pairing. It’s especially the case that Kaede believes in her work that she works hard to set Nana up for success. She even cares about Nana to the point of offering a night’s stay at the inn for her and Mizuki, and is willing to meet Nana’s parents. Funny how, when Kaede shows her support for Nana to her parents, Nana’s family sees it as a marriage proposal. In a way, this indicates that they are a match made in heaven.
Shiori and Hinako
Watashi wo Tabetai Hitodenashi

While this is probably the most doomed pairing, as Hinako faces survival guilt, Shiori sees Hinako as the only person she can befriend. Yes, Hinako was the cheerful girl who connected with a rather grotesque mermaid. At the same time, Hinako faces an unfortunate situation that not only leaves her without her family but also without her purpose in life. Sure, Shiori wants to help bring back the Hinako she knew, but it may be a forgone conclusion even if Shiori decides not to fulfill the promise she made with her.
Kanari and Muku (Canari and Gwynn)
Pokemon Legends Z-A

Kanari is a popular video game live streamer, and of course, Muku, who is Shirou’s little sister, with whom she is not on good terms due to his tendency to break his Rotom Phone. Of course, Muku is not only Kanari’s #1 fan, but she has a crush on her. She basically shows infatuation for her during the quiz contest and even vows revenge against the player character for defeating Kanari.
Of course, Kanari seems to share some care for Muku in the Mega Dimension DLC; she shows up at the Rust Syndicate to free Muku from getting involved with the hyperspace investigations. Either way, Kanari is seen with Muku in most instances.
Yukari and Harujio (Jacinthe and Lebanne)
Pokemon Legends Z-A

Sure, Harujio really likes to battle, but I find her relationship with Yukari quite interesting. Sure, Harujio probably traumatized Shirou after brutally defeating him. The funny thing is, Harujio loses to Yukari, and she makes her her assistant, or rather, her personal maid. Yukari forces Harujio to act like a proper lady while wearing a maid-like outfit, despite her crude, wild personality when Yukari is not around.
Harujio’s relationship with Yukari is interesting because she is forced to act properly and wear a maid outfit, still, despite Yukari being rather demanding and chastising Harujio when she is out of line. Still, Harujio is willing to protect Yukari during the Prism Tower going haywire and even admits that Yukari cares about her, even in a weird way. The relationship dynamics between Yukari and Harujio make them perhaps the most enjoyable pairing besides Kanari and Muku.
With that, this wraps up some of the most notable yuri pairings for this year. Feel free to share your favorite yuri pairings in the comments.
