Last time, Hinako lied to Miko, saying she wasn’t at the cultural festival. That is why Shiori learns more about Hinako’s tragic past. Of course, Miko is suspicious of Shiori after seeing something. Is it jealousy or something more?

Last time, we obviously saw a rivalry brewing between Miko and Shiori. Miko is not happy that Shiori took her seat and was moved to the front, and she may have witnessed Shiori with Hinako during the summer festival. Obviously, Hinako wanted Shiori not to reveal the fact that she went to the summer festival, or Miko would get angry like an angry cat girl.
Given that Miko knew Hinako might have lied to her, seeing her get shocked when she saw Shiori making a huge mess while she was supposed to be cleaning isn’t too surprising. Her cheerful personality turned into that of a jealous young lady, talking trash to Shiori. She didn’t like Shiori’s presence because she is one of those Youkai that eat humans. Given that Miko can see Youkai blood and interact with parts of a dead one, she may also be one. When Shiori is about to fight against Miko, they somehow stop for one reason alone.

The funny thing is, when Hinako came back, she didn’t know what was happening. Shiori and Miko act like nothing has happened as she takes Hinako to a café to eat some sweets. When Hinako asks what happened between Miko and Shiori just before they fought. Obviously, Miko sees Shiori as suspicious and possibly wants to protect Hinako from her.

Meanwhile, a staff member in the office witnessed a student going to the office. Shiori basically stole the student register to look if Miko is one of those Yokai. What she finds out shocks her. It becomes clear when Shiori shows up while Miko and Hinako are at the pier, enjoying their time with Hinako.

Of course, Shiori reveals that Miko is not human but a youkai just like herself. It becomes apparent that most of the information in the student register is being fabricated. Shiori thinks Miko is a 300-year-old kitsune youkai that can obviously shapeshift and play tricks on people. The thing is, there are good and bad kitsune spirits. Hinako doesn’t think Miko is a bad one, as she doesn’t seem to believe Shiori, given how close she was to her. When she tries to remember more of her, she is in disbelief. Hinako has no human friends. I think Miko is not interested in eating Hinako, given Hinako’s interest in sweets, but she is obviously very protective of Hinako.

With that, Miko finally transformed after Hinako let go of her hands. Miko becomes a big fox to fight Shiori. The question is: who will prevail, or will it end in a truce of some kind? We’ll see next time.

That said, the segment after the cliffhanger is quite funny. Miko basically tries to teach Hinako how to cook. The funny thing is that Hinako is evil at cooking and fails every time. Eventually, after Miko taught her, Hinako managed to make a bento that looked delicious. It’s also kind of cute that Miko had her own ending theme too.
