Flum Apricot got blessed by Origin to join a hero’s party in their quest to defeat the demon lord. However, Flum has zero on all stats with a misunderstood ability. However, a confident sage in the party wants to get rid of her since she is a deadweight. Well, Flum is in dire straits afterwards, but something saves her.
Believe it or not, Flum just happened to get thrown into this hero party. She dealt with it since her friend, Cyrill, was at the party too. She spent a lot of time with her before joining the heroes’ party together.
However, we know why Flum got kicked out, and probably the worst way possible. It’s because she has essentially zero stats, meaning she is as weak as a Magikarp, with her ability not well understood. While Flum did the cooking, the leader decided to have enough. He tricked Cyrill after getting into an argument and basically sold Flum into slavery.
While Flum is in a challenging situation, as not only is she branded as one, but she is also thrown in a jail cell with other slaves. The slave driver is cruel, as he had enough taking care of his captives that he wants to feed them to the monsters. Well, it’s brutal as the ghouls ate one helpless lady, and for the man, well, the cursed sword basically melted his body and killed him.
Flum realized that after she begged for mercy, as she did nothing wrong, the slave master called her trash for wasting her former party’s resources for being useless. When she thought she would die after the ghouls started biting her and she touched the cursed sword, she somehow healed and managed to use it to defeat the monsters. She basically kills her slave master, which he absolutely deserves since he is probably the scum of the earth. Eventually, she escapes with a bandaged blue-haired girl named Milkit. Flum decides to take her as her partner, since she has never experienced life without a master. It might be interesting how Flum’s relationship with her grows from there.
That is when Flum finds out later on that her affinity, the ability she thought was useless, actually reverses the adverse effects of having one’s body melt from touching the sword to the -995 total stat drop. In other words, Flum basically becomes an overpowered heroine. Well, if only she had access to cursed weapons, maybe Flum wouldn’t have gotten kicked out of the party in the first place.
With freedom, of course, she finds out the world looks down on her, given that she is a former slave. Even going to the adventurer guild in the slums, everyone treated them like crap, and the receptionist lady said they should just get into prostitution.
Thankfully, there is one guy at the guild who wants the receptionist lady to give them a chance with an easy quest to earn a license. Sure, it may look easy, but it’s actually a bit hard in reality, as the monsters are five times more potent than the weak F-rank monsters. Then again, they are probably underestimating Flum, not realizing that with her ability and weapon, she is overpowered. Either way, we’ll see how their first quest turns out next time.
