As Youko and Airi find a radio signal playing Japanese pop music, they decide to go to Akihabara to find the source of the station.
At last, Youko and Airi are in Akihabara, or the #1electronic capital of the world. If you don’t know what Akihabara is, it’s a place that not only has electronics, but also shops that focus on anime, manga, and video games, along with maid cafés.

As expected, Youko and Airi went to a maid café. As you would expect, Airi wore various maid outfits, while Youko wore a butler outfit, complete with cat ears and a tail. It’s not too surprising that Airi looks good in one, since Youko took various pictures of her posing in different maid outfits. The funny thing is, Airi knows about the maid café thing and knows how to greet customers, while Youko doesn’t. It’s kind of funny.

Eventually, they saw animals wandering around Akihabara. While they are not known for it, it’s nice to see capybaras, the best animal, finally. They, of course, went into the grass, and Youko had to stop as a tiger hunted a dead deer. Airi was about to attack the tiger, but thankfully, it didn’t attack. Given that this is a tiger, it’s evident that Youko’s hands were shaking with all the adrenaline of seeing a majestic creature that might hunt her down. Funny how she joked about not minding a tiger eating her whole, before saying it’s just a joke, and she doesn’t want to get hunted down.

Eventually, Youko and Airi do the thing they want to do in Akihabara. It was funny to see Youko teasing Airi, thinking Youko had fallen into the elevator, just to scare her from behind. As expected, Airi got annoyed at her. Either way, they found the source of the radio station. While it took a while to get into the building, they found the source. It’s funny how Youko wants Airi to go in first, but Airi wants Youko to go in first.

Funny how they fight over who should go in that they fell into. They find out that nobody was there and that a computer is doing the broadcasting, powered by the solar panels. Eventually, the AI that runs the broadcast noticed Airi and Youko, and they introduced themselves.
While Youko asks questions about where the radio station gets its music, it can’t answer as it prompts for a music request. This response really shows the state of AI even in the present; as impressive as it might be, it’s very limited. I’m surprised that this AI didn’t hallucinate itself.
Eventually, the program stopped, and, of course, they found the truth in the papers on the desk: the owners of the station wanted to keep the radio broadcast running to share a piece of Japanese culture from the past and their love for music.

With that, Airi and Youko made improvements so their vision would become reality, as only those with a radio can pick up the signal, which is probably hardly anyone. It’s nice to see them do such a nice deed as they head off to their next destination. Also, while no Youko is dreaming with Chitose in Akihabara, it was interesting to see her in the credits wearing a maid outfit with cat ears and a tail.
