Watashi wo Tabetai Hitodenashi – Episode 1 – Mermaid Meets Girl

October 2, 2025 by Chikorita157 Leave a Comment
Hinako waking up from bed, but she doesn’t know what will happen soon.

Hinako is a high school girl who lives alone, but seems to hate summer. However, when she looks at the ocean, a pretty young lady who resembles the sea brings her back from the brink. Makes you wonder, who is she?

Hinako spends her time mostly alone. It appears that a particular incident. She lost her parents and older brother, probably due to some incident, along with a vision of seeing herself under the sea. As a result, she seems to hate summer. It’s not too surprising, given that the incident happened on a beach.

Hinako is curious of something bubbling from the water.
A mysterious lady saves her from the brink.

With that, as Miko couldn’t meet Hinako to go to school together, she decided to go alone. After she leaves, she decides to look at the ocean as she notices something bubbling on the surface of the sea. Of course, a lady with long hair and blue eyes that are deep and clear like the sea. Her name is Shiori, as she warns her not to fall into the sea, as she thought Hinako would throw herself in. As she heads to school, she can’t stop thinking about her, and of course, it won’t be the last.

Hinako talks to her only friend, Miko.
Obviously, Miko sleeps in class.

Of course, we see the first sight of Hinako’s only friend, Miko. Yep, she is kind of a Gyaru girl as she has her skirt hiked up high and wears a choker. She, of course, sleeps during class, but she is the one who looks after Hinako. As Miko talks to Hinako and the other girls, Hinako spaces out, as the environment around her appears to be underwater. That is, until Miko snaps her out of it, wondering what is wrong. Hinako said it’s nothing. Either way, she can’t stop thinking about Shiori throughout the day.

Sadly, Miko has to do things with her teacher.
Miko knows how to revert her Gyaru looks.

After school, Miko wants to take Hinako to some places. However, Miko is called into the math teacher’s office to complete worksheets. It’s funny how she pulls down her skirt hem and takes off the choker to prepare for her fate.

Cuorsity got to Hinako as a creature seems to want her.
Thankfully, Shiori came to save her.

With that, Hinako waits for her, but she decides to go near the ocean by the school. However, she trips and one of her legs is swallowed by the yokai woman-like sea creature, Iso-onna, into the ocean. Hinako finally thought she would be reunited with her mother, father, and older brother in heaven. Well, not quite, as Shiori saves her. Apparently, she is a mermaid, and she decides to defeat the Iso-onna that wants Hinako.

Shiori of course saves her.
As expected, Shiori does not only have an interest in Hinako, she wants her, to eat, but not yet.

Of course, Shiori wants to protect Hinako as she wants to eat her eventually, but not now. Hinako wonders why Shiori knows her name and why she has been looking for her for a long time. Shiori plans to protect Hinako from the creatures that want to prey on Hinako. Of course, Hinako won’t get to join her family just yet.

Shiori transfers to the same school and class, by chance.

The next day, Miko didn’t show up to school as she had caught a cold. She seems freaked out over Hinako being all soaking wet and wonders what actually happened to her. Of course, when class started, Shiori was the mysterious transfer student as she was in the same class as Hinako and Miko. With that, I wonder how Hinako’s relationship with Shiori will play out before her eventual fate. We’ll eventually find out.
