With summer finally coming to an end, it’s time to take a look at some shows I plan to watch, along with some life updates.
Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi
Air Date: October 2nd
Studio: Studio Lings
The show is about a mermaid girl who eventually emerges and meets a high school girl named Hinako. However, Hinako, who is a gloomy girl, is also apparently tasty in the eyes of monsters. Of course, that mermaid girl wants her for herself, to eat her and waits for her to mature. I know it’s sad, it’s probably more to devour her body than well sexually, but it should be interesting how their relationship plays out.
Shuumatsu Touring
Studio: Nexus
Air Date: October 4th
It’s essentially a story about two young girls riding a motorcycle after the world has essentially come to an end. I wonder, what will they discover in an empty world? Still, I wonder if it will reveal some information, such as how the world came to an end. However, interestingly, it was promoted alongside Zatsu Tabi, which aired this spring.
Egao no Taenai Shokuba desu.
Studio: Viol
Air Date: October 6th
At last, it’s an office show featuring ladies creating and working on manga. But from the looks of it, it’s obvious the workplace is very chaotic at the very least. Still, it should be a fun one to watch.
Life Updates and the Server Crash
That said, that is pretty much what I’m watching, which is kind of unfortunate, as there is usually a good number of interesting shows to watch. However, it seems that Winter and Fall for this year have been relatively dry in terms of CGCT and yuri shows, especially given the dark tone of this year.
Believe it or not, things have finally stabilized after a stressful period that lasted most of the year. At the same time, things remain quite dark, as the cost of buying anime goods has increased due to tariffs. Everyone, even those who collect anime figures, is complaining that tariffs will ruin their hobbies as they can’t afford them. Yes, I will eventually share my thoughts on the state of collecting stuff.
That said, I will use the time until early December to prepare for the JLPT. As mentioned, I had to take an easier level because I wasn’t passing N2. So far, I’m going through the prep books for reading comprehension and will do listening soon. So far, I’m finding it a little bit more manageable than N2. Maybe once I pass N3, I will revisit N2. That said, I will also use the free time to engage in immersion practice.
Lastly, out of nowhere, my dedicated server’s solid-state drive stopped working abruptly. As a result, my blog has been down for nearly 12 hours. Thankfully, I had backups, so I was able to restore mostly everything on a temporary virtual private server. Eventually, most of the personal content will be transferred back to the dedicated server. While I was lucky, I only lost a few things, mainly AniBlogTracker, which is still in beta; it will be rebuilt eventually. I had to republish two posts. Still, considering that I lost a few things should make me think about improving my backup strategy and also testing them too, as backups are no good if they don’t work.
That said, my blog hasn’t been performing exceptionally well. Comments are down slightly from last year, which is not too surprising. I haven’t responded to most of the comments as I’ve been busy and dealing with life’s challenges. However, I will eventually catch up. However, compared to last year, it’s somewhat discouraging to see a drop in comments; I hope it will turn around in the latter half of the year.
With that, feel free to share what you plan to watch this season in the comments.
