After Ruri, with the help of Shoko and Imari, found the origins of the sapphires. As Ruri finally figured out what she plans to do in the future. With that, she decides to look in the shed to find some shiny stones her grandfather possibly left behind.

Ruri thinks about what she plans to do after parting ways with Aoi and heading home. She decides to have an ice cream pop and seems interested in what her grandfather left behind. Of course, besides mentioning the festival that is happening, it is also the time when Ruri climbed on the sacred boulder, and something happened. Funny how Ruri says she doesn’t remember that happening.

When Ruri opened the shed, she found a lot of dust. When she reached for a box, it fell to the ground. It has a rock or two, and Ruri is not sure what it is. Of course, when she showed it to Shoko and Aoi, they were unsure what it was, along with the card. Aoi wonders if Ruri lost her interest in things like jewelry and makeup, but she hasn’t, of course.

Aoi lifted the box by the lid to check it out, but she accidentally dropped it. Well, the lid came off, and of course, a small rock fell from the box. Of course, Ruri showed it to Nagi, and Ruri discovered that it was a crystal radio. It allows a person to listen to the radio without an energy source. It uses a rock as a detector, a coil of copper wires, and special headphones to hear it. Imari seems the most interested in it. The card that came with it shows proof that it actually worked.

While Imari and Nagi are busy, Ruri and Shoko decide to gather materials to fix the radio. The funny thing is that they run into Aoi, and it’s weird to see her reaction. Aoi decides to help since she kind of broke it. It was interesting to see them make a new one, and Ruri using a soldering iron. Of course, when they tried it out, it didn’t work. Nagi checked it and it’s done correctly, but the stone they use, pegmatite, can’t be used as a detector. The round rock is Galena, which contains lead, of course that will work along with Pyrite, Chalcopyrite, and Zincite. Of course, Ruri and Shoko have some of those.

With that, they decide to try various stones. Ruri, of course, managed to get it to work, but it was mostly static. Shoko suggests trying a germanium diode, and that seems to work better since it’s a semiconductor. At last, they got it to work, but not with that rock.

Even so, Ruri wants to make it happen. That means going to the shine, since it’s a lot higher. They managed to get permission, but somehow the person at the shrine happens to know Ruri. Maybe he knows Ruri’s grandfather. Eventually, Nagi and Imari met up, and Aoi met them for the first time.

Yes, they went to that boulder and eventually, Ruri remembered the time she climbed it. It’s the same one. After using the rock, the radio worked with it. It’s interesting to hear the opening song, except that it sounds like it came from a radio. Still, Ruri feels connected to her grandfather while listening to the crystal radio she repaired with her friends. Interestingly, Imari reveals that crystal radios are used in some form today. Yes, those RFID cards that are used in credit cards. That said, it’s nice to see Aoi participate in activities that involve rocks.

Of course, after the credits, Imari appeared to have won something as she pulled a gold marble. I wonder what it will be. We’ll find out next week.

Ruri does soldering, that is something I didn't expect.

@chikorita157 @chikorita157@chikorita157.com Still think it’s cool that it’s some coil on that thing. It’s always fun when they make these things a bit more realistic.
Which is the opposite of musical instruments. They most often look completely wrong.
