After Ruri, Nagi, and Imari took a break from their research to look for agates and platinum, they finally continued their search for sapphire. With Nagi’s effort, she has the confidence that she has found the spot where the sapphires are.

At last, after gathering more sand, they finally narrowed down where the sapphire is. After narrowing down all the spots that don’t have sapphire, she finally pinpointed the area where it might be. She looks pretty proud as her work pays off. Now, it’s time to find it.

With that, they went to Ryuketsu City, famous for its legends about dragons. They stopped by a temple where they learned the history of the temple on how a dragon stopped a storm that ended the drought. After they prayed, they headed up to look for sapphire. Of course, the mudstone indicates that there are no sapphires there. Ruri, of course, uses what she studied with sand to narrow the area where sapphire can be. Nagi thinks it’s a good idea.

After looking at the samples, it appears that they aren’t getting where as none of the samples have sapphire. That is when Ruri realized she had messed up, and her anxiety kicked in. She realized she had messed up the 6th spot during her collection because she hadn’t recorded it correctly. Therefore, she doesn’t know if it’s 5 or 6, as there are 9 spots.

Out of nowhere, Ruri apologizes for messing up and looks at the old sample to find this new sapphire. Nagi knows what might have happened as the sapphires came from both branches. With that, she suggests looking in the middle to narrow it down. Eventually, they find a boulder, a hornfel that might contain a clue that sapphires might be close by.

They eventually lost sight of a bit, but looking at Ruri’s notes, they got back on track. When Ruri fell into a hole, it’s probably where the hornfels used to be. After some looking and browsing on the side of the leaves, Ruri eventually found one.

After a while, they found them quite easily, until they came across the stone for the Seiryuji shrine. It can explain the legend as back then, the people didn’t know what the blue crystals were and assumed that they were bones from a blue dragon. Eventually, with scientific discoveries, humanity finds out that they are precious stones. Either way, Ruri closes out the report, or maybe there is more as she wrote the investigation “to be continued.” I guess there is more to the investigation? We’ll see.
