Last time, Shigemoto gave Kana a critical task. This time, he asks her to mentor a temporary transfer to Magilumiere. Yes, it’s a tall task for Kana, given that she is new, but given her judgment and leadership skills, can she pull it off?
As expected, we see the magical girl that will transfer for some time at Magilumire. It’s part of the plan for Shigemoto to sell his solution to deal with an evolving threat of Kaii, especially those that mutate.
Of course, the red-haired lady, Makino Akane, is surprised that she will work temporarily at a run-down office building. When she met her coworkers, she seemed shocked by how unique her coworkers were.
As expected, she seems motivated to learn more about the new system Magilumiere is developing, called Alice. Shigemoto’s efforts on this don’t come as a surprise, given that the video of Magilumiere dealing with the mutated Kaii at the expo caught her attention. She also seems amazed by Shigemoto’s magical girl outfit. Hitomi is surprised that Akane is no ordinary girl, while Kana looks amazed.
Akane is the most curious. That is while Akane had lunch with Kana. She showed a notebook with all the knowledge in the notebook as she wanted to learn more about the company from Kana. She, of course, believes the system came from what happened 15 years ago as a result of a strong S-Class Kaii that wreaked havoc somewhere and led to a lot of casualties with Magical Girls and civilians.
It’s easy to see why Shigemoto worked so hard on this system so something like this won’t happen again. Of course, the genuine concern is that people forget about that incident, given how long it has been going on. Not to mention, there hasn’t been a repeat of this incident again, and people who fought there have their takes. Either way, Akane seems excited for tomorrow when the actual action begins. We, of course, learn that Akane has been a magical girl for four years.
The next day, after being given an introduction to the system, Kana and Akane went out for smoothies. It’s funny how Akane chooses the meat despite not liking its taste. No matter how bad it is, she drinks it and takes responsibility for every decision. It’s funny to see her vomit as a result of forcing it down. That said, her transformation scene looked so incredible that it amazed Nikoyama. Kana and Hitomi showed theirs, and Akane wondered why it seemed different from Shigemoto’s.
Their practice session deals with weak Kaii in the street lamps in an abandoned building district that is getting redeveloped using the Alice system. Of course, they dealt with almost all the Kaii quite quickly. However, there is one, and Akane and Kana had their deer momentarily in the headlights. They think the Kaii that is left is the same one.
However, Hitomi discovers it’s not an electric one but a blaze-type Kaii as the buildings start catching fire. Of course, Akane assumed that it was an easy one without realizing the impending danger as Hitomi tried to communicate with Kana and Akane. Akane only hears static. Thus, she couldn’t get what they said until Kana came to save her from getting hurt. Thankfully, Kana saved her before the building wholly caught on fire.
Of course, as Kana and Akane attempt to deal with the last Kaii causing the building fire, something sinister happens. The Kaii mutated into some spider-like creature. In comparison, the tree mutated Kaii looks like small potatoes compared to this one. Will they be able to defeat this one? We’ll find out in the finale.

@chikorita157@chikorita157.com Drinking liquefied meat is an interesting character introduction. Not sure if Frieren has warped my perception of time, but 15 years seems like a pretty short time for people to start forgetting such a cataclysmic event. Granted, Kana would have been very young at the time, so she may not have registered it as such.
