With Liella giving an excellent performance in Shanghai, the elephant is in the room. As hinted by Ren a few episodes back, Margarete will have a problem if she wants to compete in Love Live. Only one group from a school can compete in Love Live. It will throw a monkey wrench in Margarete’s plans unless they compete for it.
Coming off from a big performance in Shanghai, Kanon, Tomari, and Kanon join in. Margarete wonders about this feeling. Of course, she sees Tomari doing routines from the Shanghai performance. Of course, Tomari denies this as mental training. She is unhappy that things aren’t going her way in her plan to defeat Liella.
As expected, the remaining 9 members of Liella started talking about the upcoming Love Live. Yep, they realize that Liella is incomplete, and it’s only at its best when they have all 11 members. The question is, well, how do they get Margarete’s side to join Liella? After all, her goal is to defeat Liella, which seems impossible.
If you remember Ren mentioning that only one school idol group per school can compete in Love Live, Chisato and Kanon get called into the director’s office. They discover what Ren is saying: only one group can compete. It only means one thing: Margarete’s group must join Liella to show her parents that she can generate results.
To determine this, the director decides to hold a contest between the two groups to see who will cut. The director wants both groups combined to make Liella, as seen in the Shanghai performance. With that in mind, Natsumi, Rei, Shiki, and Kinako spy on Margarete’s team.
Kanon is not there, but seeing Shiki use a gadget to have Natsumi confront Tomari and Margarete herself is funny. She tries to convince them to join Liella, but it doesn’t quite work, even after Shiki and Rei mention the Shanghai performance. Tomari is unconvinced that Natsumi is serious about her dream and Margarete. It seems like an uphill battle to change their answer.
As expected, Kanon is not at practice because she has to do plumbing work. She decides to invite Tomari over for a sleepover. Of course, they did, over Takoyaki. It’s funny to see them wear hats they bought from Shanghai and eventually talk about the performance they did. It’s great because they had the same goal and saw this as a step in putting on an excellent performance. We, of course, learned that Tomari’s favorite animal is jellyfish. I guess Mahiru and Kano can become good friends with Tomari.
When they took a walk and saw the big screen showing Liella’s recent performance, they realized something. Kanon mentioned they sang at this spot where Liella won, and Margarete lost. Kanon wants Margarete and Tomari to set their feelings at this spot as she knows they are wavering. With that, they are, of course, ready to compete for that spot, but I have a feeling how it might go in the end. Still, I’m not sure what to think about the TomaKanoTe unit name as expected.
