Last time, Suzuki left for an important trip, leaving Kurumi, Maki and Yuzu in charge. Now, they have to do a cross-country race. We know that Magumi is going to have an easy time. However, with Suzuki having faith in her students, can Kurumi pull off an upset?
From last time, Suzuki has left for some important business. With that, the school had its marathon, which they needed to make it across the finish line. Of course, some obstacles make it difficult.
The funny thing is that the standard program class is at a considerable disadvantage, given that Magumi students can use their droney to get across the course. How is that even fair? There is no way Kurumi’s class can make it to the finish line, let alone the checkpoint. The funny thing is that they are wearing specially designed
The funny thing is that after they got to the lake, most of the class decided to relax and give up on the race. They have a picnic with the food that Sally cooked for the class. Of course, Kurumi and Yuzu especially finally realized it was like they had a race to win. Of course, Azusa, who likes wearing fashionable clothing, is in a corner feeling how unfashionable the tracksuit is before changing his mind.
With that, with part of the class, Kurumi decides to take the lake as a shortcut by using barrels as a boat. They made it to the checkpoint with great luck and Azusa’s renewed motivation as the Magumi’s group’s droneys suddenly stopped working. Kurumi and her teammates had to climb up a hill and go through a tunnel. They made it. It’s funny to see the Magumi students surprised that they made it this far
However, after making it to the checkpoint, the Magumi teams managed to get their droneys back and running. Also, they must cross that bog, which Azuka seems reluctant to do since it would dirty his “fabulous” tracksuit. Thankfully, Maki had a good idea as she took out her tambourine. Yep, they use lily pads and step at the beat of the tambourine to make it across. You have to give them credit. Kurumi’s team is very resourceful.
However, they came across one of the seven wonders as the Magic Research Club lab glasses girl and purple-haired guy in lab coats came by. Yes, it may be the cause of the droney malfunctions. However, it is too late for Kurumi’s team to escape, as Kurumi has to do something. With Yuzu’s encouragement, Kurumi remembers what Suzuki said and tries to execute a spell to neutralize it. Kurumi isn’t good enough as a geyser to send the team to the finish line.
Yep, Kurumi got lucky and got third place. They got a night at the hot springs and a nice dinner. Yuzu, of course, talked to Kurumi on the balcony. She feels down since she can’t do magic and starts to lose faith in what Suzuki said about anyone being able to become a magician. Of course, Yuzu feels the same way Kurumi does.
The question is, Kurumi believes that she should just give up. Suppose that is the case. Why does this purple-haired dog shapeshifting lady have an interest in her? She is probably behind those phenomena that caused the droneys to stop working. Of course, she picked this opportune time as Suzuki was not there to stop her. That is, while Suzuki is in a library trying to look for answers, perhaps trying to fast-track her students to become magicians. That is so she can prepare her students to fend off a potential threat. Also, is there some hand-holding with Yuzu and Kurumi in the preview? I think I’m getting my hopes up too much, given that Yuzu blushed when seeing Azuka’s brother in Magumi, but who knows?

@chikorita157 The unusual art style continues, and I think I’m getting more used to it. It fits in, if that makes sense.
Also nice that Yuzu isn’t played like the normal douche rival trope. It’s a tired trope after all.
But what stuck out to me was the utter lack of the MC trying magic. If I had a fancy magic pen I’d be practicing and trying constantly.
Not that they would have to dedicate several minutes per episode on it, but some would be nice. Now it just feels like she’s expecting someone else to fix it for her and she’ll just do magic one day. Makes her a bit less likable.
