Now that Kanon decides to join Margarete’s team, it’s obvious how she will react, and also not well at all.
Last time, Kanon revealed that Margarete’s family suspended Kanon’s study abroad program. Margarete hasn’t shown any results from losing Love Live the previous year. However, she joins her School Idol Club with Kanon as Margarete’s mentor.
As expected, Margarete and Kanon do not know the teal-colored, braided-haired girl who seems interested in joining. The funny thing is that Margarete doesn’t like the idea of Kanon joining since she is from Liella and views them as the enemy. Not only that, but she also decides to change the poster so that members of Liella can’t join. Yep, Kanon got upset since the poster said that everyone was welcome. Although Margarete continues to say no, Kanon argues that she won’t join to sabotage her.
Meanwhile, Tomari explains to Magarete contract law that she must take Kanon. Margarete changed the poster after Kanon was about to hand in her application. Of course, we won’t know much about Tomari, but she is very formal and has an older sister.
Meanwhile, Keke seems upset over Kanon joining Magarete. I find it funny how Shiki thinks Margarete is using black magic to manipulate Kanon into joining her school idol club, which is quite amusing. The question is, can they save her? That is until Shiki showed that Kanon did it of her own will. Keke seems upset about why the second School Idol club application got approved when Run initially rejected hers. Chisato, of course, assures that Kanon is doing this to push Liella to improve.
Of course, when Kanon practices with Margarete, we discover some challenges they face. With the upcoming festival, only one school idol club can participate. As a result, this leaves the guest slots, which, if they enter and get at least 10 thousand likes, will get a spot as a guest in the main competition. Margarete doesn’t seem happy that she has to work hard for it.
It’s funny how Tomari talks about making profits when Kanon says it has nothing to do with it. When she realizes that what her sister says is true about school idols doing it for fun and not for profit or anything for the future, she eventually decides to join. That is, before showing her dance moves without practicing and handing her application, Kanon realizes that Tomari is Natsumi’s little sister.
Tomari is Natsumi’s little sister with all the talk about making profits, business talk, and time management. Even Natsumi gets called out for not revealing that she has a little sister after finding out about the new member of the opposing school idol club. Natsumi is trying to hide this as Sumire and Keke question her. That is until Tomari explains why she joined, to see herself the true nature of school idol activities. Natsumi’s relationship with Tomari is shaky when she tries to talk to her at home, too.
We find out more things about Margarete. She fell in love with singing after she heard a song during her childhood when she was all alone for a whole week that cheered her up. Also, Kanon finds out that Margarete will stay with Kanon for a while as her family rented the house where she was staying. Kanon seems surprised by this as she didn’t expect this at all.
With that, Kanon, Margarete, and Tomari worked on a song, lyrics, and costume for the performance. Tomari, of course, shows off the outfits they plan to wear. I find it funny that Tomari says that her profits will rise if they sing in these outfits. Yep, she is trying to out-compete Natsumi in effectively making money. Of course, Kanon is not going to allow this.
As for the stream itself, it seems that viewers are already leaving, and there are a lot of negative comments. Suppose you recall Margarete’s outburst after losing Love Live and saying that the participants are amateurs. Tomari is about to give up, as Margarete is almost about to give up. Kanon tries to convince them that they should try anyway, as songs can touch people’s hearts, and nothing will happen if they don’t. After all, their hard work will go to waste as she reminds Magarete’s Love for singing.
Ultimately, Margate realizes how long it has been since she had this much fun singing. Kanon seems happy to hear her say that. How long will it be until Margarete defrosts or something prevents them from participating in Love Live?
With the whole one school idol club per school thing with the competition, I think this charade of Margarete having competing school idol clubs has to end at some point. I guess until Kanon does her magic to defrost her and Tomari makes up with Natsumi. One piece of evidence points to this: the fact that there is no unit name and the upcoming single with the new song attributed by Liella can only be apparent. Either way, you can enjoy the new unit while it lasts.

Love Live! Superstar!! 3.2: Coach Kanon – The Yuri Empire
I don’t mind the kind of sped up feeling because Wien and Tomari’s dilemmas are clear to see. We know what they both must work on to see the light. Let’s see how the two find the shining beacon of hope.
I do hope the next episode is about Mei and Dr Shiki. I need more from my favorite couple.
