Nokotan became a meme because of that opening theme. The question is, why is Nokotan interested in Torako Koshi for some reason?
Koshi presents herself as an honor student, a role model, and a perfect girl revered by everyone in her class. However, the funny thing is that it’s an act as she wants to escape her past of being a delinquent. It kind of reminds me of Shiraki Hime but for another reason. However, Koshi’s world is about to turn upside down after she runs into a girl hanging on power lines from her antlers on a power line.
The funny thing is that Nokotan was hanging on the power lines, with saliva eventually hitting Nokotan. Yep, she became disgusted by it and wondered why she was hanging as a bunch of predators about to get her. Of course, Koshi doesn’t want to save her because she would be late if she did. It’s funny how Nokotan says she will regret it if she doesn’t get saved and dies. Nokotan is trying to guilt-trip Koshi to save her.
In the end, Koshi saves her until Nokotan thanks her but calls her a delinquent. Yep, deers have good senses. With Nokotan’s horns, she knows about Koshi’s past. Koshi is deeply disturbed by this and tries to deny it as she runs away from her.
The funny thing is that Nokotan is a transfer student in the same class with probably the most fantastic entrance. That is after Nokotan had issues getting into the classroom after her antlers got in the way. She used extra force, and of course, she broke the door and the wall, with pieces hitting the student as blood came out.
Yep, that is one entrance for sure, and the whole class seemed amazed by her. The funny thing, she sits right next to Koshi. Koshi tries to act friendly to her until Nokotan calls her a delinquent. I feel this will become a running gag as she denies it. It’s funny how Nokotan reveals that Koshi is a virgin, and of course, she can’t deny it. Nokotan will probably force Koshi into her shenanigans or get blackmailed into doing stuff against her will.
The next day, I found it funny that there was a pile of senbei. Funny how Nokotan is drooling. Yep, this was the only thing she could afford, and she thought Koshi liked them. Also, those antlers are detachable temporarily, which is quite funny. It makes you wonder why she didn’t do that before. It’s weird how Koshi talks to her in the bathroom to ask Nokotan not to reveal her true identity before she upsets her by calling the horns a joke just to backtrack. I admit it’s freaky when Nokotan took part of her head off.
Eventually, Koshi went to that storage house and saw Nokotan injured trying to clean it up after bringing her to the nurse’s office. She helped clean the storage; apparently, the teacher allowed her to form a deer club if she cleaned it. Nokotan drags Koshi into it, and the teacher helps Nokotan. I have a feeling of how this pairing will go as the purple-haired girl witnesses what she is seeing. I wonder what role she will have. I guess we’ll find out next time.
As for the brain rot opening dog, the anime director panned it from the beginning as it was his idea.
So the Deer Brainrot song was planned by the anime director right from the start. He told the music producer that he wanted a song that repeated shikanoko nokonoko koshitantan. The producer went all got chu fam, and made Deer Brainrot real.
