Now that Spring is finally wrapping up, it’s time to glimpse what I plan to cover this summer. Thankfully, it’s not barren compared to last year. As always, this list is subject to change.
Na-Nare Hana-Nare

Sure, we didn’t get another season of Anima Yell, but at least there is another slice-of-life schoolgirl show about cheerleading. Misora Kanata joins the cheerleading club at her school, but after a mistake during a competition in middle school, she can’t jump. She befriends a bunch of new girls to form a new team that goes beyond cheerleading to reach people’s hearts.
Mayonaka Punch
Studio: PA Works
Air Date: July 8, 2024
Masaki was part of a “NewTuber” group but got kicked out because of a certain incident. After meeting Live, Masaki decided to stage a comeback. However, they have different goals, but they aim to get 1 million subscribers. As expected, this anime has a lot of girls with cute fangs, but it should be interesting to see if Masaki pulls it off.
VTuber nanda ga Haishin Kiri Wasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta

Air Date: July 5, 2024
Sure, that other “VTuber” anime, Kizuna no Allele, was a disappointment, and I dropped it after the second episode. Finally, we have a Vtuber anime as Tanaka Yuki finally gives off being a Sachikui to become a VTuber named Awayuki Kokorone, who is polite and ladylike. That is until she had a hot mic moment as she broke out the booze and told crude jokes. However, when Yuki thought her career was over, she instead went viral. You know that she ran with this after how much popularity she gained.
Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan
Studio: Wit Studio
Air Date: July 7, 2024
A girl meets a… deer girl. Nobody knows Koshi Torako’s past as a delinquent, but everyone sees her as the perfect girl. That is until Noko, a deer girl with a deer nose, can sniff out Torako’s secrets and her past. Seems terrifying or interesting, right? We’ll see what she is like soon enough.
With that, it wraps up what I plan to watch. Sure, someone suggested that I watch SHY. We’ll see if I can finish the first season up quickly.
In addition to those four shows, I plan to watch two JDramas, but they won’t be covered here. Yes, a Hoshikuzu Telepath Jdrama is airing later this month. Also, there is a yuri manga, Ayaka-chan wa Hiroko-senpai ni Yoshiteru, with the younger office worker, Ayaka, falling in love with her senior team leader, Hiriko. Surprisingly, it got a JDrama instead, but at least it is more of a Japanese practice. Hopefully, someone will fansub it eventually.
Some Updates
Finally, it’s possible to bridge Fediverse accounts to Bluesky, which I’m very bearish about since I don’t think it will catch on. While I initially created a Bluesky account for the blog, there is no way to share new blog posts automatically. Eventually, I gave up on it until the ability to bridge accounts from the Fediverse to Bluesky became possible. Still, I think the experience on the Fediverse is better. Interesting picks (few are on my list), but should be interesting to see what you think about the upcoming shows when they air.
As usual we share similar watchlists. I have a good feeling about the two new originals on the Yuri front.
I have someone who will guide me with watching VTuber Legend.
I am ready to lose brain cells watching Deer Girl and love every minute of it.
I have a good feeling too, although three shows land on Sunday? I will somehow figure it out.
But yes, the deer girl anime is basically a meme now, especially the opening song.
