Shibuya may be the flashiest district in Tokyo. Still, Mahiru has given up her dream of being an artist because of haters. However, that changes when she visits a mural and eventually runs into a girl who is not only a fan of Mahiru’s artwork but also a VTuber singer.
As expected, we see a glimpse of Mahiru drawing a jellyfish. This sea creature can’t precisely swim during her childhood. However, it looks pretty when light shines through them. While Mahiru seemed excited to have her drawing turned into a mural, her confidence went down. She walked by it after school one night. Of course, it has since been drawn over by graffiti.
Still, the moment that caused her to give up on art was understanding. When she showed her friends the Jellyfish mural, her friends didn’t get it. It looks strange, and wants to draw over it. Mahiru hid the fact that she made it without realizing she had been a fan of her art all along.
Before meeting that young lady, I liked how Miharu’s little sister tried to take pictures of sleeping photos of her older sister. She deletes those pictures, although Kaho thinks sharing them will make her sister go viral. Yep, her younger sister, Kaho, wants to post photos to become an influencer. Of course, Mahiru tries to discourage her little sister by showing a news article about some influential girl putting herself behind a store refrigerator door. That seems to be a bit tame compared to some of the trends on TikTok, to be honest.
Obviously, Mahiru wants Kaho to be normal. Yes, she wears makeup from influencers and dresses in cute outfits. However, she is just ordinary. Kaho thinks her older sister is just “run of the mill” like her friends. She is far from what she was during her childhood. Despite venting to Kiui on the phone, who is a student council president at her school, she eventually crosses paths with a blonde-haired lady. That is after Mahiru tried to reach for the costume she wanted, but that young lady took it.
The funny thing is that after wearing those pairs of socks, she saw an idol trying to perform there with posters covering the mural. Of course, Mahiru didn’t like how her mural was defiled and wanted to call her out on it. However, she doesn’t and of course, the blonde-haired young lady wearing a mask did it. The funny thing is that Mahiru tried to follow her, but she got caught.
Apparently, the blonde-haired young lady was Yamanouchi Kano. She is a former idol with the looks of one but now sings music, hiding her identity under the name Jelee. Of course, Kano became a big fan of Mahiru’s art after discovering she had made the mural. Sadly, she seems disappointed that Mahiru gave up on doing art.
After Kano showed her music to Mahiru, “Colorful Moonlight,” once she got 100k followers, she wanted to get back at her haters while being herself. She really wants Mahiru to help with the art. However, Mahiru doesn’t feel confident. After all, her friends made fun of her art. Thus, she gave up and decided to be expected. Kano doesn’t think Mahiru should give up, but of course, Mahiru sees something special in Kano and not in herself as she runs away. Is it really over for them?
However, Mahiru changes her mind after discovering what happened with Kano. Kano quit being an idol after punching another member, probably because of disagreement. Eventually, she sees her while dressed up with her friends for Halloween. Mahiru sees Kano and tries to find her. Yep, she wants to see that mural where that idol is singing. She hears the song that seems awfully familiar.
I find it funny how Mahiru wanted to call out that idol for defiling the song she loved. Of course, Kano did it before she apologized for upsetting her. Mahiru told us what happened after her friends made fun of her artwork, which caused her to lose confidence.
I like how Kano whispered that she planned to perform in front of the crowd. She did as she stole the attention of that idol who “defiled” her song, and she performed it better. That is when Mahiru tore down the poster and drew something with her lipstick.
This is a sign that Mahiru overcame her lack of confidence in being an artist. That is when Kano revealed herself as a masked artist, JELEE. Still, it’s the start of an exciting pairing. Maybe, and can they shine together. We’ll see soon enough.

One of the best premieres of Week 1 alongside Girls Band Cry. Yoru and Kano show a ton of potential. The presentation is excellent but that is to be expected in a P.A. Works show by now. Looking forward to meeting the other members of their team.
Both sides are relatable in their struggles, I enjoyed the discussion about wanting to become a better you but it not always being that easy to achieve. Hope our heroines help each other achieve their dreams.
We seem to have several “let’s hope they go beyond bosom buddies” this season.
