Sayo seems to be feeling down as Tres Magia is having difficulties lately against Enormeeta. Sadly, Soyo can’t shake that feeling for some reason.

At the beginning of the episode, little Utena watches a magical girl show that features Miracle Mimiru fighting against some bad guys. Yes, it has pretty strong PreCure vibes to it. Utena was really into it like I was during my early days (e.g., Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura) of watching anime and discovering magical girl anime. Of course, we know not all magical girl shows are like that with all the magical girl deconstruction.
After the intro, we see Tres Magia struggling as Azul is mostly useless while Magetta and Sulfur fend off their opponents. Utena is surprised that Azul lost the will to fight and gets even more accessible to catch. Azul falls deep into her masochistic desires, and Utena feels disappointed. Eventually, Sulfur broke the tickling machine.
n the evening, Kaoruko and Haruka wonder what is up with Soyo. They don’t seem mad but are concerned about Soyo’s lack of ability to fight. All she could say was sorry as she walked back home. I guess we’ll find the reason behind her inability to fight. On the other hand, Kiwi is going on a family vacation, meaning she won’t be around. Also, I find it funny how Korisu blocks the server robot from doing its job. After noticing that Koritsu is getting sleepy, they head home.
Soyo becomes down over her lack of focus lately and can’t go on like this as she talks to Vatz. We see Soyo’s first encounter with an evil monster. She didn’t have magical girl abilities until she met Haruka, aka Magia Magetta. Seeing Soyo meeting her and Vatz simultaneously as she joined Tres Magia was interesting. Still, Vatz wonders why Soyo is acting strangely and suggests she relax. However, is it enough to get over her worries and her masochistic desires?
At the same time, Utena seems worried about Magia Azure. Utena wonders if she went too far with her. It’s unsurprising since Azure is one of her favorite team members. The next day, Soyo runs into Utena as she intends to go to a magical girl exhibit. She sees a group of girls cutting in line, and Soyo helps Utena.
Of course, Soyo decides to go in and see it and see the outfits Tres Magia wears. Yep, it’s like looking at the work they did themselves. As expected, Utena is obsessed with it. She is cute as she buys all the merch she wants and gets excited over watching an old episode of Miracle Mimiru. Yes, that same episode got Utena yearning for magical girls and her obsession with them.
After all that, Utena seems happy, but Soyo thinks what she saw is just fiction, and she must overcome her weakness. She challenges Utena to a duel in a barrier. Azure thought she got it, but sadly, Magia Baiser triumphed over Azure. She felt she got Baiser by freezing her, but she evaded her. Then, Baiser transforms a panda into some kind of bondage machine with a ball gag in Azure’s mouth. It brought Azure to her breaking point as her masochistic desires consumed her. Basically, Azure became broken and even tempted to lick Baiser’s feet. She even wants to join her.
The funny thing is that Utena becomes so disgusted by what Azure becomes that she kicks her. She seems very disappointed by what Azure has become and how her favorite magical girl has become. It’s surprising to see Utena become like this. Even after all this, Utena wondered if she had gone too far by breaking Azure as she fell down.
Meanwhile, the other four members of Enormeeta seem disappointed that the new recruits (Utena/Kiwi/Korisu). They can’t successfully hunt down magical girls. I guess they will be the focus of next week’s episode.
yeah Utena is in it to see magical girls squirm not this shit
Absolutely, for sure given her reactions at the exhibit.
I could have mentioned Blue being the best in all of my replies but it would have become reptitive here. Blue was, and still, the best girl on the show. This episode solidified her magnificence. Her struggles were very real. Utena was too harsh on poor Blue but we get her reasoning. Hopefully both grow stronger after this encounter, especially Blue.
Looking forward to meeting, as my spiritual sister called them, Gen 1.
I do like Azure, but yes Baiser being sadistic towards Azure while she lets her masocism consume her. Of course, Baiser didn’t like this and for sure, she will get stronger to make sure something doesn’t happen again.
But yes, Utena is a bit harsh, but I guess she has to since she doesn’t like seeing her favorite magical girl in this state.
