Last time, one of the leading members of the Commoner’s Movement got injured in a conflict. However, the commoners don’t have it, as class conflict and income inequality come front and center.
Last time, a noble got into a conflict with the guy who confronted the members of the Commoner’s Movement. As expected, Claire said that the guy with the Commoner’s movement spewed nonsense that nobles and commoners were equal. While Rae said the opposite party could do the same before, she was kidding.
Apparently, a nurse who looks familiar (I haven’t read far enough) finished treating the victim. Of course, the victim is Matt, who talked to Rae before. He didn’t want to cooperate with them since the Knights were on the noble’s side despite Misha and Rae being commoners. He eventually revealed it was an argument after the noble caught Matt and his team talking to Yu, and they disapproved of it. Matt couldn’t stand the injustice that commoners dealt with, and it got a bit too heated. The noble took out his wand and apparently used fire magic on Matt. That is where he ended up in the hospital wing.
The thing is, the commoners heard about what happened and started protesting outside of the academy. Despite all the convincing by the Academy Knights, the perpetrator, Dede Murray, got off with 1 week of house arrest. Of course, cooperation with the church is another thing since they usually support the nobles. However, it makes you wonder why they also support the Commoner’s Movement. Either way, this obviously angers the commoners. The knights had a meeting preparing for the worst as the academy closed until the protests ended.
Interestingly, Claire seems to be against loosening Dede’s punishment, given how badly hurt Matt looks. This is surprising, given that she always looks down on commoners. Is Claire finally seeing the light that perhaps Commoners should be treated better? Is it another sign that she is defrosting? Time will tell, but it’s looking like it.
With that, Rae seems concerned about Claire’s safety and can’t let her fight in the upcoming conflict. Claire, of course, resists before Rae uses a magic spell to put her to sleep. She tells Lene to hide in the dorm with Claire. Rae reveals that she knows that she can trust Lene since she loves Claire, of course. But why is Rae doing this?
Eventually, a mysterious source defeated the soldiers, and the commoner resistance breached the gates. They are out for blood to capture that noble. While Rae catches Lambert doing something suspicious. Lambert planned to unleash some monsters with the bell. He rigged Dede’s wand too well, caused this conflict and then released some monsters on the nobles.
As to why he is doing this. Well, so that the kingdom can recognize their forbidden love, as in incest, which is immoral. Of course, he seems surprised that Rae knows about this when Lene is upset and threatens to kill Claire. Yep, she has a knife close to her neck. That is until Claire wakes up and Ralaire knocks the knife.
Of course, that masked man appears and uses his magic to repair the monster calling the bell. Rae didn’t expect him, but given how much deviation from the original story there was, it’s not too surprising. Rae and Claire eventually faced off against a Chimera. While Rae froze it, they needed to defeat it with fire and ice. Can they pull it off? Also, what will be the fate of Lene and Lambert? We have to wait and see next time.
I was spoiled by Lene’s kinda-sorta not really heel turn and her wincest angle but even so the show did a good dropping seeds leading up to the reveal so I wasn’t THAT upset with Western fans.
Interested to see how our heroines handle Lene along with the Masked Mastermind and I guess Lene Bro.
Best part, besides Rae asking Claire to pump her up, was Claire now fully open to becoming Ralaire’s future mom. It’s only a matter of time and we’re pumped for it. Also Ralaire saving her mama was excellent.
Yes, it is surprising to see Lene take this turn, even when I reead the manga as well.Must be a shocking revelation that Rae know beforehand. But it should be interesting what led to them actually doing this and the true mastermind who used them to carry this out.
For sure, yes.
