Judging from the episode’s title, Yohane noticed how lonely Mari was. Can she encourage her to leave the island?
From last time, Yohane finally has a change of heart about the town. That is after she helped Kannan and You finish the rebuilt swing set by “recycling her memories.” It is no surprise that Yohane wants to take Mari there and open her up. That is before Yohane has a strange dream of wanting to go to Tokai to make it big. Sadly, we know that this doesn’t happen.
As always, Yohane is trying to fix a washing machine when she hears that a child is shut in because of hearing strange noises. This gives the thought for Yohane to visit Mari after seeing Pellapie. The funny thing is that Lailaps teased Yohane that she really loves Numazu before she told her to stop teasing her.
When Yohane visited the island, Mari was waiting for her. She heard the banging noises. Aside from that, she discovered an ancient book that describes the Resonances that flowed like a single memory and something inside everyone. Mari believes it’s the thing that protects Numazu.
Of course, this might have to do with the staff and the symbols appearing after Yohane made friends. This makes Yohane want to befriend Mari and even take her to that swing set she helped rebuild. Sadly, Mari doesn’t want to leave the island. We find out it’s because of her past experiences with her horns. It makes her anxious when she hears people’s voices and that people judge her by her appearance.
Even so, Yohane can’t help but keep thinking about it. She eventually talked to Dia about her. Apparently, Mari outright refuses to see her. However, they exchanged notes, and Mari notified her about the bridge and disaster prevention. Sure, Mari has a good heart, but she is anxious about how people will think of her, given her different appearance.
The same topic arises when Yohane meets with Kanan and You as they talk about that island and Mari. Ruby showed up, and she was curious. Of course, she doesn’t show herself since she is a fairy. Since Kannan and You find her cute, Ruby feels relieved and not scared anymore. Now, if only Yohane could do the same for Mari as she tries harder.
On the second attempt, Mari was outside the fountain. Of course, Yohane shares her intention to take her to the park with the brand new swing set she, Kannan, and You worked on. Sadly, Mari still turns her down as she feels she doesn’t need friends. It’s because of the fear of being treated differently because of her horns. Yohane wondered why Mari assumed that as she tried to convince her otherwise. The thing is, Mari, changes her mind as Yohane leaves as she apologizes for not considering her feelings. Still, Yohane feels the same as Mari as she can’t express how everyone feels and tries to blame herself for it.
As for the visit, it seemed to go well at first. Mari and Yohane sat on the swing set, and things went well. Initially, people didn’t treat her differently besides being someone they hadn’t saw. When Tsuki wants to take pictures of Yohane, the kids notice the floating sea creatures Mari has. Of course, Mari became the center of attention, perhaps by how pretty she looked. Of course, Mari becomes anxious about everyone.
Thankfully, Yohane finds a way to calm her mind. She tells Mari to close her eyes, and it works. Mari finds that everyone seems to like how stylish and cool she is. Even the townspeople praised her for helping the town. Tsuki got some lovely photos of her too.
In a way, Mari realizes that the people in Numazu aren’t so bad. Mari meets Dia as well. She tried to perform when Yohane went to that tree stump that looked like a stage. However, the lightning struck, and that fog appeared in the third episode. Is this thing what is to come? We’ll find out next time.

Yohane The Parhelion Episode 5: Healing the Ghost Fish Empress – The Yuri Empire
As Kotori Sonoda said, shy Maou Mari isn’t something I didn’t know I needed in my life. Was ready for her to SHINE and become the energetic sexy tease we know and love but she already is here too, just shier. All very good.
Shy Mari is an interesting take of Mari we didn’t expect what one needed, but she is attractive. Overall, I agree it’s good.
