Believe it or not, three Bang Dream It’s My Go episodes were released today. However, there is no way I can possibly review three episodes in one day. With that, I’m doing two each week, which should reduce the burden. After all, I work in the office on Thursday. After watching the first two episodes, how did the spinoff fare?
Note: I will be covering two episodes a week instead of three. It’s a bit too much. If that becomes too much for me, I’ll just cover one episode at a time. This just adds to this dismal season.
At a glimpse, Saki wanted to quit the band after being soaking wet, and Soyo wondered why. Taki had a problem with Saki quitting, which meant the band would disband, and Tomori seemed concerned. Of course, we see Saki criticize Tomori’s lack of experience. With Musumi not enjoying her time in the band, it’s evident that the band Saki created is in shambles.
Fast forward to Chihaya Anon’s first day of school. She apparently transferred to a new school. She ran into Tomori picking up rocks for some reason. Believe it or not, she sits beside her in the same class. Anon talks to some of her classmates and discovers that most are in a band. If you are wondering if we will have a rehash of the older bands, the answer is no, as they are mentioned in passing.
With that, Anon tried to create her own band. While she tried to recruit Tomori for her band after seeing her notebook and a music score written in it, she declined. Tomori is part of the astrology club, and a Roselia poster is hung on the wall of the clubhouse. Anon tried to ask Saki, who used to be the founder of CRYCHIC, but she wanted nothing to do with girl bands or being part of one.
Still, it was nice for Tomori to give Anon some bandaids after she fell and hurt her knee. Of course, Anon invited her to karaoke and even wanted to sing a song from a famous duo girl band. However, Tomori doesn’t wish to want to sing. Eventually, out of nowhere, she ran out after Anon wished to have a band for our whole lives.
When Anon questioned what Tomori said, Tomori ran off, and Anon chased after her and stopped her in front of Ring. This is when Taki steps in, thinking Anon hurt Tomori, and Taki acts cold towards her. She even questions if Anon is Tomori’s friend and gets angry when Anon reveals that she asked Tomori to join a band.
Taki eventually leaves before Soyo comes up and wonders what happened. The next day, Anon has difficulty finding new members but manages to recruit Soyo after running into her. She goes to Ring, where Taki works, and gives Anon a cold look. She even slams the teacup when serving it to Anon. This makes Masuki look tamer in comparison. Of course, Rana came in to play with her guitar for a bit and left. Anon seems amazed by her guitar skills. Also, is Saya working at the café? Soyo learns that Tomori is in the same school as Anon after she tells her what happened.
While Anon met Soyo and learned more about Tomori, Soyo couldn’t help but think about her old band. Anon eventually tells Tomori she won’t invite her anymore to be a part of her band. That is after apologizing. Still, Tomori is shy and sensitive as she puts away all the bandaids she took out from the box.
After school, one of Saki’s former bandmates, Musumi, wanted to talk to Saki. Yes, it’s about Soyo, but it’s evident that Saki wants nothing to do with her former bandmates or the band she disbanded. Given Saki’s responses, she wants to move on and wants nothing to do with CRYCHIC or her former bandmates. I guess Soyo will never get the answers she wants.
While Anon waited at Ring, Taki slammed the cup of water on the table as she waited for Soyo. At last, they talked about the band and what Anon needed to do. Of course, Soyo has Taki in mind as she acts cold. She refuses because she is hurt and doesn’t think Tomori can do it. Anon didn’t know why until Soyo showed her a video of her old band that she, Tomori, and Taki were in.
From this, Soyo asks Tomori if she wants to meet up now since Anon wants to meet her. I wonder what will come from this. Anon wanted to talk about the band Tomori used to be in. After all, she thought Tomori’s singing was and probably wanted to know more about why things broke down between everyone in the band. We’ll find out soon enough.
