It becomes obvious who wins the Blume election. However, can Sumika mend things with Kanako?
At last, we finally see Mai, Mitsuki and Sumika count all the votes in the Blume election. While Sumika looked at one of the ballots, it had Kanako’s name written on the ballot. Sumika was pensive about Kanako as she was unsure what to do anymore. While Kanoko isn’t trying to break things, Sumika is uncertain about what to stop.
Either way, we finally see the results. Believe it or not, Sumika wins the election, as Kanoko votes for Sumika. However, why did Kanako not change her mind despite feeling resentful of Sumika trying to get in the way of keeping her status quo of having Hime to herself but never acting upon it? But I wonder, why doesn’t she confess her feelings to Hime when it’s apparent and keep it bottled? That is what we will find out soon.
Believe it or not, it’s interesting to see the results. In the end, Kanako is dead last as Hime gets third place. Interestingly, she and Mitsuki got 90 votes each, meaning they voted for each other. Sumika got most of it, with Mai and Kanoko voting for her. Of course, Sumika voted for herself since she was allowed to.
When Sumika announced the scores to Hime and Kanako, Kanako felt down for some reason. Hime notices Kanako is tense when Sumika wants to talk to her alone. Hime gets a bit worried if something happens between Sumika and Kanako about telling her to give up on something. After all, Sumika is the only one apologizing. Hime believes this is why Kanako is acting strangely and wants to know what Sumika said. This gets Kanako worked up as she tells Hime to stop.
When Nene asks to use the changing room, she congratulates Sumika. When Sumika remembers Nene’s relationship with Yoko along with Kanako, she becomes frustrated about getting that reaction with little effort. Of course, Nene asks about Sumika arguing with Kanoko to Mai. Of course, Mai knows about it, but Nene doesn’t seem worried as Mai hopes that Sumika realizes what she wants to do.
Eventually, Sumika managed to talk to Kanoko, who seemed distrustful of Sumika. That is after Sumika creates a rule that sisters can’t break up. Still, you wonder why Kanoko voted for Sumika? She can’t let Mitsuki win, who is her arch-rival in the love triangle she is in with Hime and Mitsuki.
We see Sumika changed her approach to helping her instead. After all, Sumika is trying to understand this love thing. It also pains her to see Kanoko love Hime and hide her true feelings to stay friends. This is the part Sumika doesn’t understand as she holds onto Kanoko’s right wrist. She tries to escape, but Sumika admits she doesn’t understand romance and wants to learn why.
Sure, Kanoko doesn’t trust Sumika since she is a gyaru but treats it as being real. Therefore, Kanoko tells everything about why she loves Hime. It’s what we know all along. Hime showed her true self only to a select few. Kanoko believes that she is the only one that knows the true Hime, which is what she loves about her. Everyone else that Hime pretends to be friends with isn’t her true friend, and she turns down confessions.
Does this sound familiar? Yep, Mitsuki is also the other girl that Hime became best friends with and acts true to herself until a misunderstanding. While they made up, I feel bad for Kanoko since she doesn’t know that Mitsuki knows Hime too. Also, Kanoko wants to keep the status quo despite having a crush on Hime. What if she confessed to Hime? How will she react? Not only that, what if she finds out that Hime liked Mitsuki all along and she also revealed her true self. Hanoko would be heartbroken.
At the same time, Sumika realizes that she can’t let Kanoko keep holding her love in. When Kanoko wants to keep things they are, she remembers that moment with Hime that if Kanoko doesn’t say anything, it’s like it never happened. Kanoko started crying as she didn’t want that. Sumika comforts her try to tell her not to cry, to stay silent and keep in her feelings. She wants Kanoko to come to terms with her feelings with Kanoko. While Kanoko is sad that she can only tell Sumika how she feels about Hime, at least Sumika can comfort her. Sumika wants Kanoko to stop her from crying alone about it. Still, I like how emotional these scenes between Kanoko and Sumika were.
In the end, Sumika was able to make up with Kanoko. They formed a Schwestern pact with each after revealing the Blume election results.
While Sumika won’t stop Kanoko regarding her love for Hime, at least Kanoko has someone to talk to about it. After all, Mitsuki confessed her love for Hime several episodes back, so there is no putting the “romance” thing back in the bottle. If things don’t work out for Kanoko, always have Sumika. The question is, will Sumika will eventually develop feelings for Kanoko despite only forming a Schwestern thing out of convenience. Time will only tell as we head to the finale.

A fantastic end to the Gyaru and Beast arc. Best of luck to Sumika playing the long game. Eventually she’ll make the right moves on Kanoko. I’m pretty sure they’ll find love quicker than Hime and Mitsuki.
Agreed, but hopefully Sumika will find a way to well, win Kanoko’s heart if things don’t work out for Hime and Kanoko, if Mitsuki wins first.
