After Oinky Doink Café wiped Maid Sheep after Kaoruko, the lead maid there, almost tried to kill Ranko and Nagomi, things turned dark. Apparently, it has to do with the maid café Ranko wiped clean and a former coworker she worked with 15 years ago.
As expected, it’s nice to see them focus on the achievements Oinky Doink Café has made so far. Most of it is thanks to Ranko, of course. Now, another notorious maid has finally got released from jail and taken the helm of a maid conglomerate. Her name is Minami Supernova Yamagishi. That is a mouthful of a name.
As expected, Minami is very feisty and talks like a thug. She shatters a limbo window with a bat, her favorite weapon. Not only that, Minami takes over as head maid of Maidalien and doesn’t like the pacifist approach. She stepped and smashed the lunch the head maid provided as she was unhappy with the current one.
Also, we find out that Wuv-Wuv Moonbeam is part of Maidalien. Yep, Ranko pulled Creatureland into the path of war as Minami is bloodthirsty. Yes, they want the Manager to talk with Maidalien, but I don’t think they will listen.
Also, the funny thing is that Ranko and Minami ate ramen together. Ranko doesn’t realize that Minami is with Maidalien and is out to get Oinky Doink Café and send them to the slaughterhouse. It’s funny how they are talking like buddies at this moment. This makes it obvious what kind of relationship they had in the past.
With that, it seems that Nagomi’s friend is distant as Crimson Supernova is back. She will wipe anything in the way of Akiba Big Bang. In short, she wants to wipe out their competition, Creatureland. Of course, Nagomi, given how pure she is, doesn’t want this, and of course, her friend thinks the same way. Believe it or not, her name is Nerula and Nagomi’s Manager met her. Also, running away with the money or bribing them is not an option.
To protect her, Nagomi thought about doing a sisterhood oath. That is after Yes, it’s starting to Schutzengel thing from Assault Lily with Riri and Yuyu. In comparison, Minami was Ranko’s coworker, and she had a sisterhood oath. However, their relationship goes south when Minami wants to go on the offensive, and Ranko is unwilling to go against her head maid’s wishes. As a result, they broke up as Minami threw down the name tag Ranko gave her as part of the oath. This makes Ranko and Minami rivals as they are in different factions.
Aside from that, it seems that Nerula is willing to create a sisterhood pact with Nagomi. This is not surprising since she is not interested in violence like Nagomi. Still, I must admit that the sisterhood ritual is cute, silly, and filled with indirect kisses. This is like a wedding ceremony. The ramen shop owner and Manager were there to watch. In other words, Nagomi and Nerula pairing is now canon.
Sadly, the pairing didn’t last long. Since Nerula decided to help Nagomi instead, she betrayed the maid café she worked at to get information on Minami’s plans to take out Creatureland and Oinky Doink Café. Of course, the Manager encourages Nagomi to use Nerula as a spy, which she is against, understandably. Minami eventually finds out when the police pay a visit to Maidalien HQ.
Nagomi is also worried about Nerula as she can’t reach her anymore and ask her whereabouts. She is still alive as Nagomi with Ranko managed to find her. However, she is in hiding after betraying her maid café to protect Nagomi. Of course, she decides to kill Minami. Basically, she is willing to sacrifice herself to protect Nagomi. This reminds me of how painful it was when Riri saw Yuri sacrifice herself. Same thing here, but more painful for Nagomi because of how close she was with Nerula. At least Nagomi’s life got spared.
As expected, Nerula gave her last words, which were very impactful. She tells Nagomi to don’t change the way she is. In other words, she wants Nagomi to stay out of the maid war stuff and don’t go down the same path as Ranko. But unfortunately, no matter what happens, it seems that Creatureland is getting dragged into the war, as Minami started it this time by killing Nerula. Either way, I won’t be surprised if Nagomi goes down a downward spiral for a bit.
The biggest twist was Nerula not betraying Nagomi. Other than that seeing someone she cared about die in front of her would most likely be the catalyst to her becoming another Ranko and as mentioned before I DO NOT WANT THAT! Make her a kind and capable fighter but not a bitter avenger.
Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, since Nerula said as her dying wish for Nagomi not change who she is. But I think this will give Nagomi a wakeup call to protect her friends instead of avenging and going down the same path. Still, should be interesting what path she takes next time.
