Now that Hitori finally finished the lyrics along with Ryou for the composition, it’s time for them to perform the song, or rather an audition. Can Hitori make it through the audition and pass it?
At last, the girls finally receive their first pay. As expected, Hitori thinks about what she wants to spend on her first paycheck. I can understand this feeling as there are things I wanted to buy after receiving my first paycheck. Then, there are the living expenses, such as paying for food, rent/mortgage, student loans (if any), and other bills. Once that is over, there is only a small portion left.
Sadly, Hitori finds out the hard way as Nijika reminds her they need the money to fund their concert. I can’t stop laughing as she sings an impromptu song about having to give up her money. Also, her reaction when she finds out other band activities like creating a music video and making albums cost a lot of money. Finally, the idea of working during the summer at a beach or amusement park is too much for Hitori.
Thankfully, Ryou came up with a good composition that went well. It’s nice to see Ryou praise Hitori. Of course, Nijika’s older sister throws a monkey wrench into her plan as she won’t allow Njika’s band to perform. After all, they kind of embarrassed her last time.
Nijika stormed out of the live house leaking an embarrassing secret that her older sister had. She said that her older sister couldn’t sleep without stuffed animals to cuddle. I find it funny how Ryou has pictures of Nijika’s older sister doing what her little sister describes. Then, Nijika’s older sister stopped Hitori, and she panicked. Hitori simply wanted to tell the offer Njika’s older sister meant to tell Nijika.
Of course, Bocchi manages to meet up, and she is almost about to pass out from not breathing enough. However, she eventually tells them the news they have to pass an audition if she wants to perform.
As expected, Nijika’s older sister wants to see her band’s performance before she can allow her to perform in a concert. After all, their first performance was kind of embarrassing. That means Hitori needs to work hard not to screw up. She even practices with Ikuyo. So, of course, I find Ryou, Hitori, and Ikuyo dressed up in suits and wearing mop-top wigs. How they dressed reminds me of male K-pop idols, especially BTS. Nijika’s reaction to this was hilarious.
One day before the audition, Nijika felt that she had dragged Hitori into this. Hitori is not sure what to tell her. She knows Njika’s dream, but it’s apparently a little more than that. This will be more important later.
As for their performance, it was surprisingly good. Nijika has an excellent voice. Still, Hitori tries her best as she doesn’t want the band to end here while helping Njika achieve her dream. Sure, Nijika’s sister only gave a few complaints, but she passed them. I find it funny how Hitori suddenly throw up on the flaw. The funny thing is they show pictures of dams across Japan as Hitori threw up after receiving all the praise from Ikuyo. I guess they want to show how bad it was without showing it. After all, it would look nasty.
Now the band has finally passed its first hurdle. With that, there is the first concert. Each member needs to find 5 people to sell tickets to. I find it funny how Hitori tries to figure out what people to invite until she realizes she only has four or three, as a dog doesn’t count. She is short by two, but she will find a way or get help. Either way, I can’t wait to see how their first concert will turn out.
This time they slowed down the pace the story is advancing, giving more details to the audition part.
I think it was an excellent choice to enjoy more the moment Bocchi is able to show a sample of her real abilities in front of her band mates (but immediately forgotten by her hilarious throw up scene). And followed by the funny exchange between the manager and Bocchi after the audition.
My expected character introduction was delayed to the next week, but I am very satisfied with today’s episode.
Yes, it’s nice to see more of the audition. I have the manga, but I haven’t started it, so it won’t be surprising how the show extended that scene, which would probably take a few pages.
As expected, Hitori doesn’t disappoint.
If anyone is interested, the following link have the complete version the audition music (in the channel “Kessoku Band”): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDk1RA4g8CA&list=OLAK5uy_kzWQeUIkbBFdq_0QHuN8DqUUhbbiCamjA
Thanks, and apparently they are releasing all the songs in an album releasing the end of December.
Hitori never ceases to ironically bring joy with her extreme reactions.
Kita hooking up with Hitori would be nice but her eyes are still on Ryo.
Onee-chan the tsundere siscon.
Yes, so far Hitori still continue to exceed expectations. But yeah, it’s obvious that Nijika’s older sister seems a bit too attached to her and her tsundere personality, obviously with sleeping with the stuffed animal thing.
