Last time, Wien and Liella faced off in regionals. Still, the result is obvious and doesn’t favor the former.
While I apologize for getting a bit too political in the last two episodes, disaster seems to be adverted. I expect it to since Aqours and Muse won on the second try. However, after all the suspense, Wien got second place, meaning Liella won first. That means they are going to nationals, which is good since Keke can stay in Japan. This is something Sumire is happy about, with Keke hugging her. Yes, seeing their reactions to their win was heartwarming.
Of course, Wien didn’t take it well. What do you expect when she gives an arrogant speech online saying that she refers to her rivals as amateurs. Of course, she will not win any favors from the audience. However, while good, it shows that her performance feels a bit cold compared to Liella’s, which brought smiles.
Given Wien’s personality, she didn’t take her loss well. First, she grabbed the mic from the MC and complained about Liella winning instead of her. Yep, her lack of sportsmanship is on full display. Then, after Kanon tells her off, she walks away. Still, even after the party, Wien was on their mind as everyone talked about it online. Keke and Mei seem very angry about her as well. Still, I wonder why she was that upset.
As expected, the girls forgot about the New Year after Aria brought out the confetti. Yep, they rushed to the shrines to make their offering for the new year. But, even after that, Wien is still on Kanon’s mind until she finds her social media.
She finds out that Wien wants to attend the same school in Vienna as her older sister but doesn’t know why Wien wants to Love Live. Her curiosity gets to her as she finds Wien and tries to ask about that. As expected, Wien showed a lot of anger and resentment over Liella stealing her victory. That is while she looks depressed. Kanon tries to relate to her experiences of not making the cut for the music program at Yuigaoka.
As expected, Wien acts cold towards Kanon, telling her not to compare her experiences. She believes that Kanon is pitying her when she doesn’t want it. After all, Wien still believes that Liella robbed her dream away. Then, she revealed that she only participated in Love Live to get into the school she wanted to attend. Yep, I can see why she didn’t win, although she came very close.
The next day, Liella announces their win and advancement to the nationals. What I find funny afterward is that Sumire now uses Natsumi as her new playmate. Yep, Sumire torments Natsumi as a money-grabber. Natsumi’s retort was golden as she brought up Sumire’s giant isopod video and played it. Yep, that got Sumire cowering. On the other hand, Keke seems chill, with Natsumi taking Sumire’s attention. That is until the director came to meet Kanon.
Eventually, the curiosity got to Kanon, and the director called her in. It’s about an invitation to go to that famous music school. That is while the others overhear them. So, of course, Kanon reiterated that she was not going. However, the girls still seem curious as Kanon seems interested in Wien as they go to her house to spy on her. Yep, she spotted them as they fell. Afterward, Kanon makes it absolutely clear that she will stay at Yuigaoka.
Chisato spots Wien and tries to talk to her. When Kanon turns down the offer from the director, Chisato talks to her. Finally, Chisato comes to the rooftop and tells Kanon she wants her to study abroad. I wonder why Chisato wants to change Kanon’s mind. Is it the same deal as Kotori? I guess we’ll find out in the finale. Still, it’s nice to see the girls besides Sumire, Kanon, and Chisato enjoy the Kotatsu, especially Ren, who had never experienced it before.
Liella winning was excellent. Wien’s main motivation was “eh”. Mia did it better.
Wonder if she will redeem herself and what will Kanon decide after Chisato’s opinión?
I kind of expected them to win as Aquors and Muse did on the second try, but still have mixed feelings about Wien, especially since she is more stuck up than Lanzhu, even after losing. It should be interesting if she loosens up in the finale, but that means we have another Kotori situation again if Kanon really changes her mind. We’ll see.
