The regionals are almost here. Wien being an obstacle in the way of Liella advancing beyond regionals, they decide to do a training camp.
With regionals coming up, knowing Sunny Passion’s surprise loss last time, Kanon and her friends want to win this time. After all, if they don’t make it this time, they have to say goodbye to Keke forever. After all, there is no way her parents will let her stay in Japan or go back, even despite what Winnie the Pooh does with China and Zero Covid. Even the future of Liella will get questioned since Keke is what makes Liella. In other words, they have no choice but to work hard to win it.
With that, Kanon wants to do another training camp. Eventually, they settled on going back to the place where the first years trained at. Someplace in Hokkaido at Kinako’s place. Of course, I find it funny how Chisato gets a bit jelly over Kanon about actually going to that place. Also, in the beginning, we see Natsumi freezing to death. Thankfully, she made it inside before things got worse.
While Chisato, Ren, and Kanon worked with Shiki, Mei, and Kinako on the choreography, music composition, and lyrics, there seems to be a gap between the first and second years. As expected, while Keke and Sumire put up the background display for their live stream, they started bickering with each other.
I knew this would happen despite that scene with them in the last episode. It won’t be Sumire and Keke without them bickering with each other. Funny how Natsumi brings it up that almost caused the display to fall because a tape on Keke’s shirt caught on the display. Thankfully, it survived with minor damage.
After Liella made their appearance, it was Wien’s turn. She said harsh things as she is very exertive and confident that she will beat all the “amateurs” in Love Live. With that kind of attitude, I can see her popularity go down. After all, Love Live is not just about talent but also bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. That is, the audience enjoys the performances. Unfortunately, that is what Wien lacks, especially the arrogance she gives, probably more than what Lanzhu provides.
While this pushes the first years to work even more challenging after witnessing Wien’s message, Kanon decides to do something different the next day. Instead of focusing on skills, she wants everyone to have a day of fun in the snow. After all, getting the first years closer to the second years is more important to reduce the gap. Moreover, the first years seem the most concerned about being distant from their seniors. But, at least, it brought a lot of lovely moments with ice fishing, ice skating, building snowmen, and snowball fights.
After one day of fun, the girls finished the choreography, music composition, and lyrics. As they say, teamwork goes a long way not to getting things done but also growing together.
With that, the day of the regionals has come. Wien tries to intimidate Kanon and her friends, believing that songs are powerful and that she can build her dream on her own. But, of course, Kanon doesn’t believe Wien is right as singing is not for her own benefit but for everyone.
People argue that Wien’s performance brought more impact, and Liella’s song choice is underwhelming for some. However, some believe their song doesn’t have the same impact as Wien’s.
Since Love Live is a popularity contest, I think that the results depend on the audience. Given that Wien kind of ruined her reputation with that self-serving live-stream appearance. Not to mention, if Liella lost, it’s pretty much over for them. After all, Keke has to return to China, which is probably not the best place to be in, given Winnie the Pooh is running the country into the ground.
Let’s be realistic here. Judging from the preview, Liella will make it. I highly doubt the writers want to cause outrage from the fanbase caused by Lanzhu in SIFAS. Still, the fandom can be fickle sometimes.
Note: I noticed some readers didn’t like how I added political views to my reviews. Note that they are part of my analysis and opinion, and they are not meant to offend people. If you are offended by this, my apologizes.
Do not upset or keep secrets from your girlfriend Kanon. Bad idea.
Wien wants to become Beyonce I see.
Cheap but predictable cliffhanger making us wait for the results. Should be interesting because we will finally learn what is the deal with Wien.
I know that Kanon is well intentioned, but doing it in secret probably won’t end well. But yes, it’s predictable and I already know how it will end, but I do look forward to Wien possibly defrosting.
