While the last episode gave a false alarm that LycoReco might close, their finances are not looking so hot. That is where Takina takes matters into her own hands.
If the last episode wasn’t an indication already, it becomes apparent. Chisato doesn’t seem so hesitant to serve fancy dishes. So naturally, this worries Takina as she becomes a bit worried about their finances.
When Takina calculates the figures, she sees a massive budget shortfall. It’s probably thanks to Chisato being a bit wasteful. Sure, she decides to put her feet down by being one of those personal finance people and become a CPA accountant to turn around their finances.
Takina is probably not as obsessed as Natsumi when it comes to money as in the thing that makes the world goes ‘round. Still, given that she tamps down on Chisato’s usage of those expensive bullets and doing various odd jobs, she takes it to the extreme. This includes threatening not to disarm a bomb unless she gets paid. I must admit that is kind of funny.
Also, it’s cute to see Takina and Chisato handing candy out. Chisato was about to give away the big bag of money they earned, but thankfully Takina stopped her. Also, it’s adorable to see Chisato wanting a bag of Halloween treats that Takina was holding out, and she didn’t give any. However, Takina eventually gives her one a few days later with a special dog charm.
Perhaps the most noteworthy part of Takina’s turnaround plan is the desert she came up with. It’s basically a parfait that looks like something familiar and nasty. I find it funny how Chisato was about to say it looks like poop, but didn’t say it.
It’s funny to see Mizuki’s expression when she saw it. Somehow, it became a massive hit with everyone. Of course, Kurumi saw the social network laughing at Takina’s new creation before serving it to people. Apparently, she wants a part of the action. Also, the girls seem to like how adorable Kurumi is when she won’t reveal her age. It’s funny how she shows a smug smile to Mizuki.
Thankfully, Takina’s turnaround efforts were a success. They earned enough money that they bought a robot to serve customers. Does this give some clues about Chisato? Well, we don’t know for sure. Also, Takina invested some money into the stock market. Yep, she is making more money than Natsumi as she doesn’t invest in meme stocks, NFTs, and cryptocurrency.
I found it funny when she saw Kurumi’s computer screen. First, Takina becomes horrified that someone said her parfait looks like poop. Then, she becomes self-conscious and wants Mizuki to stop making them. Sadly, it seems that Takina can’t put the genie back into the bottle.
The surprising part of the episode is that Majima is at Chisato’s apartment, threatening her with a gun. Of course, Takina called, and her response worried her. We learn a bit from the tower incident that Majima was the perpetrator. However, we saw that Chisato, being a child is a killing machine. She took out the terrorists, but it wasn’t enough. Also, he seems to have some interest in the movies Chisato enjoys. Makes me wonder about his allegiance, although he might be the false bad guy. The ultimate antagonist in the story might be Yoshi, as we still don’t know the motives of the Allen Institute.
Sadly, Takina was unable to catch Majima as he made his escape. That night, she shows how worried she was for Chisato. It’s evident that if Chisato doesn’t pick up the phone, Takina knows she is in danger.
Eventually, Chisato does the physical, and as expected, Yoshi’s assistant drugs her and tries to do some operation. Yes, trying to brainwash her by putting electricity into the artificial heart? I am very skeptical that manipulating the heart can change someone’s personality. It’s like Suzune receiving a heart transplant and expecting her personality to change. The heart simply pumps blood. It’s not the mind. I feel that her assistant doesn’t know what she is doing, and Takina manages to stop her.Who knows if his assistant did this multiple times as Chisato is afraid of needles, and realized the effects after she got the drugs. Either way, we are finally at the climax, and things are about to get interesting.
The first half was fantastic from start to finish while the second one had an interesting flashback and quite the cliffhanger. Hope Mercy doesn’t weaken Chisato too much or whatever she’s doing to her. Go get her Takina!
Yes, the first half is good. Still, there is the hope Takina will get to her on time, given how incompetent the bad guys are and the lady doesn’t seem to know what she is doing. Electricity to an artificial heart isn’t going to brainwash people since it’s not the mind after all, but who knows the actual effects. Might actually give the opposite intended effects to what Yoshi wanted.
