Now that Akari decides to stay behind to find more clues about Manon, it becomes apparent what Manon wants. Also, who was that little girl that Momo attempted to save?
While Momo recovers from that unfortunate trap that Manon set up after taking the little girl out of the Iron Maiden, Menou plots her revenge against her. With the Lisbelle Island blocked off, the Fourth is pretty much screwed.
As expected, Akari snuck into the manor on Libelle Island. She snuck in to find some clues about Manon before confronting her. We learn that Manon was a child of another Other Worlder, who is her mother. Yes, the woman married Count Libelle after falling in love with her and having a child. The Fourth believed that if they had a child, they believe the offspring would have a Pure Concept. Therefore, his wife didn’t have to use it if they needed it.
Of course, Manon notices that Akari’s time-traveling eventually allowed Manon to break the fog barrier and take the Pandemonium. Yes, that little girl, who she used in the Iron Maiden to make the drug. But, of course, it’s part of her big scheme to become a taboo.
After Flare assassinated her mother, Manon finds out that Flare wouldn’t kill Manon too. After all, she knows that Manon has no Pure Concept. Now, she feels resentful after the Fourth council believes Manon is useless. This makes it seem that Manon wants revenge on Flare for killing her mother, but not so much. She wants to take it out on the Fourth.
Eventually, Manon unleashes the power of the Monstrine to gain taboo powers and eliminate Akari. Thankfully, Menou rescued her before Manon could land an attack. Menou eventually faces off Manon.
Manon wants Menou to kill her so she can finally be free from her life’s pressures of not having a Pure Concept. Menou did that. Sure, Manon knows that Menou doesn’t seem to like killing people and that she can rebel against the world too before giving a parting gift. Giving her life up to the Pandemonium.
Aside from that, despite the Pandemonium’s cute looks, she is creepy. She can talk now despite being covered in blood. Yes, she is creepy and killing her is useless as she produces another body, especially when she twists her head to summon some monsters. The monsters eat her old body before she pops up again. In other words, the Pandemonium is unkillable like Akari.
This is when Menou finally realizes the little girl is one of the Human Errors. She mentions the Ivory hero couldn’t even get rid of the Pandemonium. What the Pandemonium said about the Ivory Hero protecting the world and nobody noticing makes it evident that Menou was one of its victims that survived.
Meanwhile, Ashuna interrogates one of the elderly Fourth members. The guy admits that Manon forced them to do her bidding. That is until he disappears after the Pandemonium did a summon in the ruined Lisbelle manner. While this fight looks tough, it’s obvious who might join in on the fun next time. Yep, it’s Ashuna for sure. Either way, I wonder if Menou can defeat the Pandemonium or if it’s hopeless. We’ll find out next time.
Bloody good time this episode was. Very cool and violent twists. Excited to see how our heroines overcome Pandemonium. Won’t be easy.
My heart briefly ached for the Gorgeous One. Luckily she had a feeling there’s a big reason Momo didn’t show up for their (date) meeting. Hope she gets to visit her after the Libelle crisis is over.
Manon has a very twisted mind for good reasons, but it’s good to see that the little girl was the Pandemonium and yes she is creepy cute.
Hopefully Ashuna will visit Momo, but should be interesting if she decides to help out or not next time.
