Mei is feeling under the weather lately. With the live performance coming up, she catches a cold. Of course, we learn more about Mei’s and Rie’s childhood.
As expected, it seems that Mei did her voice recording without any complaints. However, it seems that Satori doesn’t like how cold Mei is towards the director. She thinks that Mei has an attitude issue that looks bad on their group.
Of course, we find out why Mei went into voice acting. It’s because Rie is doing it. It’s not too surprising since Rie and Mei are childhood friends and maybe more than just best friends. Satori did bring up a good point, what would Mei do if Rie decides to give up voice acting?
Either way, Mei catches a cold a day before the live. Obviously, Rie noticed something was up when Mei turned off her laptop. Yep, she finds out that Mei had a fever, which is something that usually happen before a big event. The same happened in a flashback when child Rie becomes worried towards Mei when she catches a cold before the trip. I guess this is already an indication how close they are.
Also, Rie mentions how much Mei changed since coming to AiRBLUE. Mei is showing her true self more thanks to Satori and Rinne being there. Either way, Rie, Satori, and Rinne are happy that Mei recovered the next day. Of course, Satori ends up apologizing while Mei was recovering over what she said about her attitude.
As expected, the highlight of this episode is of course how Rie and Mei got close to each other. Rie became friends with Mei when she asks her out to play. When they touch each other’s hands, they got a shock. Yep, it must be Rie’s special powers or static electricity.
What I find interesting is that even in her childhood, Rie still acted like a Chuunibyou while wearing a fancy dress. Not to mention, Rie had different color eyes, even during childhood. It’s obvious how much an influence this had on Mei’s fashion choices. Of course, Mei comes from a rich family, and she had maids since her mother works overseas.
Aside from that, we learn about the wish Rie made during Tanabata. It seems that Mei can’t come up with a wish during class. The thing that is most important is that Rie made a wish that she will be with Mei forever. Yep, that can explain why Mei became a voice actress with Rie. Still, I wonder when they will get to the same level of relationship like Haruna and Maika.
Overall, it’s nice to learn more about Rie and Mei and their friendship. As expected, their group’s live debut was good. Also, it seems that the rest of AiRBLUE came along to see their performance too. From the looks of the preview, this leaves Rinne, the last member to receive the spotlight.
Baby Rie and Mei brought great joy to my heart as did their eternal love.
Mei had nothing to worry about but was understandably worried Rie might move on from her.
Electrifying bond of justice FTW!
Yes, Rie’s and Mei’s childhoods are precious, but it’s obvious that Mei doesn’t have to worry about losing Rie for sure as their bonds are strong. But it’s nice to learn more about their friendship and how it became more than just best friends.
