After Shamiko finally learned how to use the computer and the internet, she continues her search for other demons like her. Then funny thing is that Momo reminded Shamiko what she forgot since that time.
Now that Shamiko finally became a computer-literate demon girl, it seems that Momo wants to find more demons on town. I find it funny how Shamiko turned her wand into a pointer saying that there is already a demon right here. Yep, she is trying to crack a joke, but this makes it seem that Shamiko forgot about she said from that special moment. Of course, Shamiko didn’t forget about this, but of course a lot of things happened since then.
The mission entails Shamiko to go to a place where there might be a demon. As expected, since there is a barrier setup by Sakura, Shamiko needs to go there by herself. Of course, this might not be a good idea as Momo finds out.
After Shamiko went to school to ask Anri where to look first, she arrives at a café. That café is Café Asura, which run by demons. Yep, she saw a seal that Sakura set up and a help wanted sign on the door. I find it funny how Shion crept up to Shamiko at the doorway. Yep, she knows that Shamiko can use the computer and wants to suggest her a website. I guess given Momo’s presentation about the internets, Shamiko doesn’t take the bait.
Yep, when Shamiko opened the door, she finds there is no one there, until a blue-haired fox girl demon waitress girl appears. Her name is Lico. I must admit that she looks adorable, especially with the waitress uniform. However, she isn’t the shop owner that Shamiko is looking for. That would be Shirosawa.
Of course, he looks injured. While Shamiko wanted to ask him something, he thought that Shamiko wants to work at the café. It’s obvious that he is looking for part time help that can work all the time, even weekends and holidays. I find it funny how Lico restrains Shamiko as it seems that the café is desperate for workers. Shamiko eventually gives in after Shirosawa begs as he despite for workers. I guess Shamiko took the gig just this once with the hope to get information. Well, she is in for a nasty surprise of unbridled capitalism and forced labor through brainwashing.
In the end, her reward is food and of course, she forgot what she is set out to do. After all, the last thing she mentions is that her unpleasant and important errand is evaporating. Yep, the errand of finding the demon and getting some information out of them for Momo.
As expected, the brainwashing becomes obvious when Shamiko brings back fancy food and not the information. I find Momo’s and Mikan’s reaction to Shamiko saying Manual labor is the ultimate seasoning quite funny.
Yep, it appears that Lico brainwashed Shamiko i work at the café. Of course, I find it interesting how Ryoko is one of those people who take pictures of their food. Don’t worry, I do the same too. Now, Shamiko can’t think about anything else except for work and bringing back leftovers.
Eventually, Momo realizes that her beloved might be acting strangely after visiting that demon café. Not only that, but Shamiko can only think about work. While Momo tries to snap her out of it, it looks like it’s not working. Mikan also mentions that Shamiko is in waitress mode, even after work.
Eventually, Momo and Mikan decides to take things into her own hands after four days since starting the mission. Yep, by modifying the barrier at the café so they can infiltrate it. I guess that is probably why Shion took her homunculus clay in the second episode for this moment. They are going to use Mikan’s arrow to shoot Lilith at the barrier to modify it with the mini dolls Shion made. Yep, Momo had 10 of them at her disposal, which shows up as lives.
As expected, it’s obvious that they used 10 of them before they managed to break through. What they saw is a brainwashed Shamiko who is eating more leftovers. I find it funny how Lilith tries to snap Shamiko out of this without success. It appears that the effects of Lico’s food worked so well that Shamiko forgot her mission. Yep, Momo seems very suspicious of the food given how Shamiko is acting. It becomes obvious that Lico is on this and eventually admits to this.
In the end, Momo managed to save Shamiko from becoming brainwashed to work her entire life as a waitress. Still, I find it cute how Shamiko said her top priority is to put a big fat smile on Momo’s face. I guess this is close enough, although Momo blushes from this. After all, this is one of her goals since the second episode after all.
Lico and Mr tapir are fun additions to the cast, especially Lico.
Waitress Shamiko was fun and sad.
We’ll see what happens now that Momo knows Shamiko’s main mission.
Yes, Lico is adorable and I find it funny how her food is highly addictive and brain washing. But I guess Shamiko tasted the dark side of waitressing, and probably why some might not want to work in that field given the low pay.
I guess Momo hopefully fall into the darkness of becoming Shamiko’s vassal. It’s probably a one step closer.
