Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku – Episode 8 – Swimming Challenges and New Uniform

February 26, 2022 by Chikorita157 2 Comments
It’s obvious who didn’t pass the exams.

With the sports festival near, it’s time to decide who will do what activity. Also, someone in her class challenges Komichi to a swimming match. Apparently, Komichi’s school uniform is on the line.

Apparently, the school had examinations and surprisingly, Komichi did well. She placed 5th in her class, which is not too bad. I guess it’s not too surprising to see Kei having a perfect score and Ai is not that far behind. Of course, Touko doesn’t want to see her scores, since she probably did bad. I guess Komichi got there from her hard work.

Ai’s reaction when Erika revealed Komichi’s swimming skills is not too surprising.

Of course, Ai came in with Kei to decide what activity each student will do. Of course, Ai selected Komichi for swimming, which she is good at. On the same team is Riri, who is in the swimming club. Of course, Erika points out Komichi’s swimming skills, which Ai wished she knew earlier.

Komichi suggests that Ai should compare their abilities first. After all, she swims just for fun. They decide to borrow the school pool to make it happen. That is when Riri issues a challenge. Yep, if she wins, she gets to trade uniforms with Komichi. As expected, Riri came to this school because of the school uniform, until Komichi’s uniform catches her eyes. Of course, since Riri is swimming since elementary school, this might become a tough match for Komichi.

Yes, Riri actually went there when it comes to her challenge to Komichi.
Komichi is sad that she might have to trade uniforms if she lost.

While it’s obvious that Riri is joking, Komichi thought that Riri is serious. Of course, Ai overheard the promise Riri made to Komichi. Either way, Komichi is serious about winning as she doesn’t want to lose and give up her uniform temporarily. That is while Komichi’s mother was working on Komichi’s summer uniform and Komichi ask about the swimsuit.

As expected, Erika cheered Komichi on.

As for the swimming competition between Komichi and Ai, Komichi showed that she is a good swimmer with some flaws. She is bad at turning, which is not too surprising since she is not a professional swimmer. Still, it’s nice that Erika cheered for Komichi to win.

Komichi’s fears has become true, but she doesn’t realize the uniform trading thing was just a joke.

Sadly, Riri won the swimming match and Komichi was in tears. Sure, Riri went to hug her knowing that Komichi is upset over having to give up her uniform. That is until Riri admits it’s just a joke. She wants Ai to tutor her because she failed her exams. Of course, Touko wants some help too. It’s obvious that she didn’t do so well either. Maybe she spent too much time cooking sweets instead of focusing on her studies?

Komichi’s new summer uniform.

Aside from that, Komichi eventually went home, and her mother finished her summer uniform. She of course showed it to her father, who is waiting before heading to work again. Sure, Komichi seems hesitant to show him since it’s another level of cute. Either way, she did. I find it cute how Kao sneak in and tried on her older sister’s school uniform.

Yes, Kao snuck in and tried on her older sister’s uniform. It was too big.
At least there is an alternative.

As expected, it was too big on her. She admitted when Komichi came into the room that she doesn’t look cool. Maybe this will change when she grows up. At least she done the bow thing for Kao and she seemed to like it. At least there is that.

Wasn’t nice of Riri to trick Komichi like that but she apologized and got won points with Ai. Not bad.

Erika continues being best girl as her relationship with Komichi grew stronger.

I guess Riri didn’t use her best judgment although it’s obvious that she wants a serious race with Komichi so she can show her true skills. Still, it’s good that she applogized in the end and didn’t mean wrong.

      Agreed.
