After Akebi had a so-called date with Erika, it’s obvious how Erika reacts when Komichi meets her the next day. Also, Komichi thinks that Hebimori Oshizu can read music in her class from reading that magazine. Of course, Oshizu can’t just disappoint Akebi as she tries to learn the guitar.
If you can call Komichi spending time with Erika fishing and then inviting her to the house a date, well it’s obvious that Komichi and Erika had a relationship upgrade. They address each other by their first names. Komichi obviously shared pictures of Erika fishing. Yep, she mentioned that her father complimented on Erika’s fingernails.
Of course, Komichi shared how awesome Erika is playing the violin and stuff. Still, it seems that Erika thinks Komichi’s dancing skills is more amazing as the other students come in. It’s Oshizu and Togano Mai. They will be more important later in the episode.
After class, it becomes apparent that Mai is Oshizu’s roommate. As expected, she likes the sound of the electric guitar. Despite this, she doesn’t join any clubs. Outside, she reads a hard-core music magazine until Komichi approaches her. After seeing that the magazine Oshizu read is a hard-core musician magazine, Komichi believes that Oshizu can read and play music. Yep, Komichi bought that magazine since it featured her favorite idol, Miki just to find out it’s filled with sheet music.
Of course, Oshizu admits that she can’t read music. However, she feels that she can’t disappoint Komichi with those eyes and tells her that she plays guitar. Now, Komichi admits that she wants Oshizu to play guitar to her. Of course, the intercom called for Komichi before she got Oshizu to play guitar.
Oshizu may have dodged the bullet, but she needs to confront the cold reality of potentially disappointing her. Despite wanting an electric guitar, she decides to touch the string guitar that is sitting in a corner. Of course, Mai, her roommate comes in. She doesn’t mind Oshizu playing the guitar.
During basketball practice, she saw Komichi struggling with her lessons, After Komichi is done, Mai hands Komichi a bottle of water. Of course, Komichi apparently wants to try other places to practice, but she is still grasping the basics. This is when Komichi realizes Oshizu is Mai’s roommate and asks about the guitar. Yep, she is already pressing at it despite Oshizu struggling with the cords.
When Mai got back, she saw that Oshizu giving up and decides to play Chinese Checkers. Of course, Mai easily beats Oshizu at the game. This is when Mai tells Oshizu that Komichi is still expecting her to play the guitar. It seems that Oshizu already gave up on it, especially with the strings snapped.
Of course, Mai encourages Oshizu not to give up as nobody masters a thing overnight and practice is necessary. Not too surprising since this is true with any skill. After all, she eventually reveals that she struggles shooting far away. After shooting close to the net and gradually moved further, she eventually got better. With that, Shizuku fixed the strings and kept practicing until she is confident enough to perform for Komichi.
Eventually, that day has come. Oshizu invites Komichi to the music room. Of course, they heard someone come in and Komichi and Oshizu hid underneath the piano. Yep, it was Erika who was practicing a piece on the piano after putting away the broom.
As expected, Komichi is amazed by Erika’s piano playing skills when Touko came to talk to her. Still, I wonder if Erika noticed Komichi without pointing it out. I guess one can only speculate. This is also why Erika keeps her fingernails trimmed as it’s hard to play the piano with fingernails. I know since I used to play the piano. It’s hard to play with long fingernails.
As expected, Oshizu wanted to give up as she loses confidence after hearing Erika play on the piano. Of course, Komichi skill wants to hear her regardless. Oshizu eventually performs and had a decent performance. Komichi seems to like it. Her efforts have paid off, but of course she wants to get better at playing guitar. Yep, this caught Mai’s attention as her advice seems to have work. As they say, if you don’t try, you will never know how good you are.
Komichi’s harem hunt continued, this time adding an aspiring musician. Not sure Mai will join in or pursue Oshizu instead but either way they too are welcome additions to the harem.
Bless Erika very much.
Not too surprising, but it’s interesting to see Oshizu managed to pull through. But yes, Erika is too good, although it’s obvious that Erika’s piano playing skills amazed Komichi. Still, it’s nice to see Komichi’s relationship with Erika now in display.
