Now that Rena is part of the new idol group, 9-ties she just formed, the girls find out that going at it alone seems a lot harder.
With the songs, outfits, choreography, and unit name decided and done, it’s time for 9-ties to make their debut. Of course, the girls find out that doing an idol group on their own seems a lot harder than they believed. Their first performance hardly garnered any people watching, except for Jun, which observe them from far away.
The girls pushed on creating fliers to promote themselves. Yes, it’s starting to look like Ochikobore Fruit Tart, except instead of handing out store fliers, but promoting their group. As expected, some people recognized Uta and Nagisa. Regardless, their luck was bad initially that Uta really wanted to promote the group on her social media as she feels frustrated. Of course, the other girls told her she can’t as they are starting over from scratch.
Eventually, Suzune’s former competitors, Karin and Ayano recognizes her. They aren’t happy that they that they give up that easily. It’s obvious that they want to win the opportunity and believe Selection Project is not a place to make friends. They have the competitive mindset that Rena used to have, until the obvious happened. Still, I can understand what they are getting at and would probably vote someone out if they had the chance. This is what most reality shows want them to do to stir up that juicy drama.
As expected, Seira watched the performance and she seemed to like it. Not only that, but she also feels a bit relieved, although it’s obvious that she lost against Rena.
Sadly, things don’t get better with Uta receiving pressure to show results before the end of the year. If she doesn’t, she must return home. Even so, they aren’t willing to give up just yet and continues to give their best. After all, outside the Selection Project, there are still a lot of people that don’t know about them yet.
After some more effort, they eventually receive a big audience. Yep, that hard work eventually paid off. Karin and Ayano came to watch their performance as well and eventually apologized for what they said before. Before performing their last song, the girls introduced themselves. After performing their new song, everyone seems to like their performance.
Of course, there is a big surprise in the end. Jun finally saw the performance. Yep, they saw the performance along with the CEO of Production Select, which sounds familiar. Yes, it’s Sunny, who takes care the girls at the dorm. Jun finally realizes that the girls still have it in them that they decide to give them another chance. They need to get 20 million cheers together to make it a deal.
Yep, this part is starting to feel like Nanabun no Nijyuyni with the comeback arc. The girls eventually accept. Even after returning to the villa dorms, Suzune acted funny for some reason. Hopefully it’s not too serious.
