Selection Project – Episode 10 – Aftermath and Never Underestimate The Power of Friendship

December 3, 2021 by Chikorita157 3 Comments
It becomes apparent what the end result was.

You might be wondering, how the vote turns out? Judging from the first few moments, the result became obvious.

With Suzune waking up from bed and see that her parents going on vacation together, it becomes obvious how everything ended. When Suzune rides on the train to meet up with Rena, she heard a few girls complaining about the results. It becomes obvious how the results turned out.

It’s obvious the girls didn’t want to vote anyone out. In other words, the producers decided to  pull the plug.
Suzune feels disturbed that the girls are talking about the 7th season of Selection Project.

As we find out, the girls did the unthinkable. The girls decided to vote for themselves as they can’t bring themselves to eliminate someone. I have a feeling that this would happen. I guess one can say that this is a protest vote since they don’t want to leave anyone behind. Of course, the producers aren’t having it and promptly disqualified all the girls for breaking the rules. They are basically Willy Wonka saying to the girls, “You get nothing! You Lose! Good Day Sir!”

It’s obvious that the cheerers aren’t happy with the abrupt end.

Yes, that is a very anti-climactic way to end the 7th season of Selection Project. I can see why people are disappointed. I have a feeling that this can discourage girls from auditioning for the next season. Nevertheless, from hearing this news, Seira had the urge to call Suzune but decides not to. I have a feeling that she lost as SuzuRena has won over.

Yep, it seems that Hiromi has someone that is very close to her.

Aside from that, we get to see the girls go back to their normal life. Yes, that what it seems at first, until it becomes apparent that they are going somewhere. Also, it’s interesting that Hiromi has a girl who is very close with her. She also notices how much Hiromi changed, which is not too surprising. Also, Nodoka saying that she won’t go on anymore diets and eat whatever she wants and exercise. I don’t know if she will become one of those mukbangers and manage to stay fit.

Not too surprising to see Rena have all of her older sister’s merch.

With that out of the way, Suzune visits Rena’s house. She pays respects to Akari and saw Rena’s room. Yes, it’s stacked up with a lot of Akari merch. Rena offered to give Suzune extras, but she already has everything that Akari put out. Yep, Suzune is a super fan or rather, a super stan for Akari. I can see why Suzune and Rena are destined to be together.

The girls decide to stick it to the Selection Project by forming their own idol group.

Believe it or not, the rest of the girls who surprises Rena and Suzune by saying they are in Tokyo. Yes, they want to form their own idol group on their own. Yes, it’s like Love Live, but no affiliation with a school. It’s cool how they come up with their own idol outfits, the choreography. Rena only wants to manage it and not actually do the performance. It’s obvious that she made up her mind about not singing anymore, but still cheer them on. The question is, this is what she really wants?

Suzune obviously wants Rena to sing together with her and the rest of the girls. Will she change her mind.

After the girls came together to practice, it seems that Rena wants to talk with Suzune in private. It’s obvious that Rena doesn’t want to perform together despite coming up with the name, 9-tie. Yes, it’s pronounced cuties. The name is symbolic of course represents the ties and bonds the girls have. Of course, without Rena performing together, Suzune finds this odd, and she wants Rena to perform together with everyone else. After all, Suzune believes Rena feels the same way as they gave it their all to earn the cheers from fans, like Akari.

She finally realized what her sister’s reason for singing.
Rena has finally defrosted.

Eventually, after Rena watched the recording of the training video she recorded, she finds out what Akari meant. Yes, this is as she tears up. When she realizes this, she calls Suzune, but of course the girls were outside of her apartment. Rena met them and of course Mako presents the outfit they made, which they will wear in their performance. It’s obvious she changed her mind. Yep, we finally witness Rena fully defrosted, perhaps all thanks to Suzune. I guess the only thing left is for Suzune to address Rena by just her first name.

Of course, Production Select, the talent agency who runs the Selection Project contest eventually took notice of the mistake they made. I wonder how they will get out of the rut they created. We’ll see soon enough.

I didn’t look up any hints like episode titles so I was surprised by the voting results. Plus it was handled quite well.

Best of luck to our heroines going the indie route.

Glad to see Rena found her way thanks to Suzune and the rest of 9-Tie.

It’s surprising, although I saw screenshots of the episode preview and I wondered what really happened, but it becomes obvious. Hopefully the girls stick it to the competition producers. Still, it’s good to see Rena resolves her issues.
