Now that Iroha and Yachiyo has an idea on how to separate Tsuruno from the rumor, they decide to connect to her. However, it doesn’t quite work as initially thought.
At a glimpse, it looks as if Iroha and Yachiyo connecting to Tsuruno worked, but it’s not. Despite Tsuruno saying that she is the strongest magical girl, she is still acting funny. It looks as if their attempts were unsuccessful. Not only that, Madoka and her friends are having a hard time breaking Mami free from the Rumor. Of course, Touka is obviously annoyed that Iroha and her friends are ruining her creations.
Eventually a strange light came from Rumor Tsuruno. Iroha finds herself in a theatre taking a glimpse of Tsuruno’s struggles. This is the main reason this review didn’t happen until now. As you know, Funimation dropped the ball. The theatre scene is half of the episode, and they didn’t translate most of it due to the audio distortion. This caused the translator to hear nothing, thus missing subtitles. While I know Japanese somewhat, my listening comprehension skills aren’t that good. Eventually, they fixed it, but it took three days. This is why this review took so long to happen.
With that, the whole scene focuses on that time when Meru turned into a witch. Tsuruno decides not to show up to help Yachiyo, Momoko, Meru, and Mifuyu to defeat the witch. It’s because she decides to help her parents in her family’s restaurant, which Yachiyo accepted her request. As expected, Yachiyo becomes distant with everyone as Mifuyu left the group to join the Magius. As expected, Iroha keep saying that this isn’t true.
To Tsuruno, she felt that this was her fault. If she was there, this of course wouldn’t happen. She decides to force herself to become the strongest magical girl and show no weakness. Tsuruno and Yachiyo feels that they need to be stronger as a result. As everyone becomes distant, Tsuruno puts on a façade that she thinks that she is the strongest magical girl. Of course, that is further from the truth.
Of course, the survivor guilt eventually settles in as Tsuruno must become the strongest magical girl while not showing her weakness. Eventually, this takes its toll on her as she doesn’t rely on anybody. That is when Iroha appeared in front of two Tsurunos. Of course, Iroha doesn’t think this matter although Tsuruno won’t stray by her ideals.
Seeing this struggle, it’s easy to see why Tsuruno decided to join the Wings of Magius. Of course, Yachiyo thinks this is her fault before Iroha grabs her hands. Thankfully, Yachiyo manages to snap out of it as they return to reality.
When Rumor Tsuruno tries to attack Yachiyo and Iroha, Felicia finally returns. She tells it like it is and said that Yachiyo and Tsuruno aren’t strong and tells them not to hold their feelings in. Yachiyo finally realizes that she caused Tsuruno to become this way. While Yachiyo is afraid of connecting with Tsuruno again, thanks to Iroha, she gives it another try. This time it worked. Of course, Madoka and her friends manages to release Mami from the Rumor. I felt that seeing Mami and Tsuruno released from the rumor felt a bit too easy.
Eventually, Madoka and Iroha connected with each other, and they destroyed the amusement park rumor. This of course causes the witches to go away from Kamihama. Yep, Touka isn’t going to be happy about this.
With that, Madoka, Sayaka, Kyoko, Homura, and Mami heads back to their city. After all, the Walpurgisnacht is heading back there. This causes Homura to lose hope that Madoka might face another bad ending. Of course, iroha and her friends decide to meet Touka and Nemu. The funny thing is that the door closes on them and Iroha manages to get in.
Of course, Touka becomes angry at Iroha until Nemu tells her to stop. She decides to come clean about the truth behind their dreams. It won’t be that long when we find out about their plans soon. Also, it seems that Kuroe has some problems of her own as her doppelganger tells her that she will never fit in with Iroha and her friends. We’ll probably see some resolution to her issues in the final season.
Overall it was a good episode with a nice ending. I am glad Yachiyo and Tsuruno managed to reconcile their differences. I just hope the pair manages to rely on each other more and not bottle their emotions again. Other nice bits was when Mifuyu also saw eye to eye with Yachiyo. I really wanted those girls not to stop fighting and thankfully that is what we got.
I just hope Kuroe can be brought back from the brink and that Homura’s fears for Madoka are not realised. If Madoka were to perish god help us all from Homura’s wrath! Lot’s to think about and lot’s to ponder. If the final season is also eight episodes then will be in for a hell of a ride.
Yes, it’s good that everything turned out well in the end. I guess the third season will have some resolve for Kuroe, but hopefully it will be good. Still, should be interesting to learn more about that witch that Touka and Nemu is planning to use next time.
Glad Tsuruno and Mami were saved. Hopefully Kuroe can be saved too.
Looking forward to learning what secrets Nemu and Mini-Kyubey were hiding when the show resumes later this year.
I guess Touka is angry that Iroha and Madoka ruined her prized creation, but at least it ended well. Still, it should be interesting to learn more about what Touka and Nemu is up to pretty soon.
