After Yachiyo survives the aftermath of losing Iroha, she goes on a rampage. Yes, against the Wings of Magius over what happened to Iroha.
It’s obvious that Touka’s plan is going well. She even got all Iroha’s friends besides Yachiyo of course. Not only that, Momo, Rena, and Kaede is now sucked into this thing as well. Still, I wonder what plan she is cooking up to save magical girls. To me, I find it very suspicious as the Wings of Magius feels like a cult.
Aside from that, we see a flashback of Yachiyo’s past as a fashion model. With her being the only one that make the cut make her feel this way. Of course, losing Meru and Kanae along with Mifuyu to the Magius doesn’t make things any better. It’s because of the wish Yachiyo made to survive the cutthroat modeling industry. Now she blames herself as Iroha fell into the abyss as Sayaka saved her, thus leaving her alone again.
As expected, Yachiyo has feeling of survivor guilt. After all, she made a promise with Iroha that she will become the leader. However, with Iroha being gone, Yachiyo feels that her curse caused her to lose Iroha again. Yep, she takes it out on the Wings of Magius as she tries to find her. She even tries to get answers from Mitama. While she explains the droppel thing, she has no idea how to get to Magius Head Quarters, or Hotel Faint Hope. Only a Black or White Feather will know. What we also learn is that if a magical girl uses the droppel too much, it can cause them to go crazy. This is in despite of it purifiying the soul gem.
You might be wondering, why did Nemu task Kuroe with something. She has her find the Rumor of the Eternal Sakura. Of course, Kuroe doesn’t know where to find her until Little Kyubey shows up. The thing is, Yachiyo eventually finds her and becomes enraged after seeing her being a black feather.
That is until Mifuyu shows up and they Faught each other over beliefs over magical girls. Eventually, Mifuyu used her droppel, but of course, Yachiyo ended up using her Droppel. She overwhelms Mifuyu. She eventually came close to shattering her soul gem thanks to her droppel. Of course, Yachiyo regained control before that happened.
Of course, Mifuyu escapes, but Kuroe did not. Yachiyo follows Kuroe into the rumor barrier where they see a lush green field with a wilted Sakura tree. Out of nowhere, a light shows and Iroha appears. I wonder what she is doing there. I guess rumor said that it gives its blessing to their reunion with a bloom that will never go away. Was this Nemu’s plan all along? We’ll find out soon enough.
You do wonder what hidden skeletons the Magius are hiding in the locker. Whatever they are doing it seems they are acting independently to the kyubeis.
I suppose the fact the dobbels make the girls mentally unstable could be a factor that will make them easier to manage if you know how to push the right buttons. I feel that could be an important factor in the way things pan out.
Ah still early days to make any concrete theories. Let us see what episode 3 delivers.
