From last time, Koguma receives a strange phone call from Shii. After she opened the phone, she finds out that Shii is in trouble.
I had a bad feeling that this will happen since in the last episode, Shii was absent. When Koguma head to the shop, she saw Shii take the cat trail bike path. Somehow, Shii fell into the river and can’t get out due to how cold the water is. Koguma reassures her that she will save her and eventually finds her. Of course, things look a bit risky given how rough the path is.
Thankfully, Koguma manages to save Shii and it’s good that she didn’t suffer any injuries. Of course, she was soaking wet given how long she was in the river. What surprised me is that Shii didn’t seriously injure herself. Given a fall like that, I thought she would at least have a few scrapes.
Sadly, when Reiko recovered Shii’s Moulton Bike. She eventually reveals to Shii it didn’t make it as she washed dishes. Thankfully, Shii’s phone is safe. Not too surprising since most new smartphones are water resistant these days. It’s obvious that she was sadden by how cruel winter is. Even so, Koguma kind of feels some guilt since she knows that Shii wants to become like her.
Still, I find it funny how Koguma’s wish of having Shii ride in her front basket becomes true. Yep, while Shii didn’t like it, even when Koguma brought it up last time. I’m surprised that Koguma did it. I guess she didn’t want to wait. Even so, it’s cute to see Shii’s reaction.
After Koguma brought Shii to her apartment, she prepared the bath for Shii. While she washed up, Koguma washed her clothes. When Shii came out of the bath, Koguma held her underwear. Yep, Shii became super embarrassed. While this moment is surprising, it’s quite funny. What is more awkward is Reiko coming out of the bath with only her panties on. As expected, Koguma threw clothes at her. I guess she did this to get Koguma’s reaction.
The next day, Koguma and Reiko brought Shii home. Yep, Shii’s mother and father are happy that their daughter is safe. In return, Koguma and Reiko receive a card where they can drink free drinks and sandwiches. While this will cost Shii’s family a bit of money, I guess it’s worth it since they saved their daughter after all. While Shii receives a new bike, Koguma feels that it doesn’t quite suit her. Also, she put her project on hold for obvious reasons.
Some time passed by, and spring finally begins. Koguma takes her final exams. With exams finally over, there is break. I find it interesting how Koguma realizes that Shii is not the one that chases after Koguma. Koguma thinks it’s Shii’s go-getter personality that convinced herself to buy a Cub and meet Reiko. She realizes this when Shii wants to tag along to see the cherry blossoms. This is not too surprising given her motivation to make her Italian bar a reality.
Overall, I think Shii is precious and no, it’s not because she is smol. I wonder if Shii and Koguma might make a good pairing. Yes, Koguma and Reiko has strong competition, but either is good. Either way, I wonder how the cherry blossom viewing trip will turn out next time.
Glad Shii wasn’t hurt too badly. Poor bike didn’t make it sadly.
Looks like Koguma and Shii finally became proper friends. Wonder if this means Shii will finally get a scooter of her own?
Bless Reiko.
Yeah! Reiko is a “real” character.
Yes, it’s a good thing that didn’t happen. But it’s not too surprising to see Koguma get closer with her given what happened. Still, I am wondering about that too.
Reiko, never change.
Hi! You have a nice blog. Your profile says that you know Japanese. Do you know if Honda Motors is financing “Super Cub”?
Thanks. While I do know Japanese, at least can read it with a dictionary to look up some words, the page for the show on Anime News Network does mention Honda Motor Company as the series supervision, so they probably have some role in this production.

Thanks. If Honda Motors was financing “Super Cub”, there definitely would be a second season.
