Now that Himeno finished her creation, she along with Touko and Mika submits their entry. Of course, Himeno starts to lose her confidence in her creation as anxieties starts to settle in.
The day has finally come for Himeno, Touko, and Mika to submit their entries. I find it fitting that it’s raining that day as Mami drove them to the Ceramics Park Mino where the 41st Mino Contest is happening. Still, it’s nice how Naoko helps carry all the pieces. Of course, Himeno’s father looks forward to looking at her daughter’s creation.
After Himeno arrives home, she talks with Naoko. She feels relieved until she realizes that the judges need to evaluate her work. This causes Himeno to become worried, until she smelt her father’s cooking. As expected, he made baked curry and she couldn’t resist. I find it funny how she calls her father a monster for creating food this good. This is when Himeno saw the bowl she made for him that she thought is a failure. As expected, he warmed up to it after he showed initial disappointment.
As she took a bath, she wonders why her father changed her mind. While this should make Himeno happy, she wanted redemption. Of course, her anxieties start to settle in her strange dream as a whale that supposed to be a salmon float over Himeno.
Eventually, she opens the door to the living room and sees her grandmother and father poking fun at the cushion Himeno made. I get it, Himeno wants to make something that most people won’t see practical like her mother. However, Himeno doesn’t seem to have the confidence in her own work. She shares her anxieties with Naoko. Of course, Naoko gives her moral support and tells her not to worry.
The day has come when the exhibits open for the participants. They saw the work and she notice there is a red dot on the faceplate of Touko’s and Mika’s creations, indicating that their work stood out. However, Himeno begins to start losing faith in the creation she worked so hard on. Touko reassures Himeno that judges can give awards out during the final appraisal before they hid from the judges.
Of course, Himeno’s anxieties settles in when the judges look that their work. Of course, I can understand how Himeno feels when one the judge’s think’s that Himeno’s ceramic cushion is a funny idea. Even after looking at other entries, Himeno starts doubting herself quite a lot and feeling worse.
I must admit that I was in a similar situation after doing all those job interviews. I thought I did good. Shortly after, I start to doubt myself as I anxiously wait for the results. While I have several rejections during the three years looking for work, I eventually got an offer.
From this, I think Himeno shouldn’t worry too much and let things fall into place. After all, there is a possibility that good result can happen. Himeno eventually realizes this and decides to not worry too much in the end. As always, anything can happen. If she doesn’t receive a reward, there is always a next time. Either way, we’ll see what happens after the results come out in the final episode.
Not much to say about this episode. Just have to wait and see what the judges have to say about our girls’ work.
Same, but I have a feeling that Himeno probably won’t win anything, but hopefully the end result will be good for her even if she doesn’t win an award.
