Now that Himeno’s anxieties has finally melt away, I wonder, what does she plan to make for the contest? She still has no idea, until something sparked her inspiration.
I must admit that the beginning segment is hilarious. Basically, Mika is in her imaginary world having a tea party with some animals. Of course, Mika dressed as a squirrel. The funny thing is that she just playing with her clay models. While Touko didn’t blow up at Mika, it’s obvious that Mika is distracting her. Yep, she pulled her ears instead. I think this is probably a better way to tame the overly cheerful Mika than yelling at her.
While Himeno’s anxieties finally went away, she still hasn’t figured out what to make. She tried to make something on the pottery wheel, but she eventually messes up. It’s obvious that she becomes jealous of Touko and Mika since they have an idea what to make. That is until she remembers the statue that her mother makes. The funny thing is that she makes a strange sculpture that Mika thinks is an eel. I think that is pretty cute.
Trying to think about looking for inspiration, she tried to draw various objects. Of course, Mika guesses them as different objects or animals. Of course, Touko is not having it and pulled her ears again after laughing at Himeno’s drawings. Still, it’s obvious that Himeno’s drawing skills are difficult to decipher. However, it’s obvious that her drawings are family orientated. Even so, I have to admit that Himeno’s drawing are, well unique.
The next day, Himeno tries making plates after realizing her father needs smaller plates. However, they don’t come out as well after she tries to finalize the edge. I guess she will get there eventually. Still, they make a nice coaster.
After her failure, she comes back home. She tries laying on the cushion and it’s hot. Yep, it has been in the sun for a while. After she tells him about the contest, he brings out a big bat. Yep, his wife apparently made it during the time she became frustrated with baseball and thought about quitting the team. Suddenly, she brought it to him to cheer him up. In a way, she is telling him not to give up.
As expected, it’s not functional as a bat since it will break, but it sure looks pretty. It’s obvious that her father treasures it a lot. This eventually gives Himeno an idea of making a ceramic cushion. As expected, while it doesn’t seem practical since it will be hard, at least it’s worth a try. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. As always, Mika remains the most enjoyable character, at least for me.
I can see how much you like Mika. She’s quite adorable, yes. Nice to see Touko can control her without getting too upset at her.
Glad Himeno was able to find her spark. Let’s root for her creating the ceramic cushion.
Yes, her character design and cheerful energy is what makes her a likable character. But it’s good that Himeno finally figured things out.
